Obamacare

I can't wait for the GOP to spin the success that the state's will have with the exchanges. I'm going to sit back and laugh my ass off.
Huffington Post’s Jason Cherkis spent two days at the Kentucky State Fair with workers from Kynect, the state’s health marketplace. He came back with a better understanding of deep-fried Kool Aid (“funnel cake dough flavored with the powdered drink mix”) and this fantastic anecdote.
A middle-aged man in a red golf shirt shuffles up to a small folding table with gold trim, in a booth adorned with a flotilla of helium balloons, where government workers at the Kentucky State Fair are hawking the virtues of Kynect, the state’s health benefit exchange established by Obamacare.
The man is impressed. “This beats Obamacare I hope,” he mutters to one of the workers.
“Do I burst his bubble?” wonders Reina Diaz-Dempsey, overseeing the operation. She doesn’t. If he signs up, it’s a win-win, whether he knows he’s been ensnared by Obamacare or not.
This speaks to a point that others, particularly Jonathan Bernstein, have already made: When Americans actually interact with Obamacare, it won’t be called Obamacare at all. In Kentucky, for example, it will be Kynect, the state health marketplace. In Idaho, local residents will purchase coverage from Your Health Idaho. Covered Oregon will serve (surprise!) Oregonians, while neighboring Washingtonians will purchase coverage from WAHealthPlanFinder. If you watch the ads that states have produced to support their marketplaces, they rarely mention the federal law that has set these changes in action.
This means it’s entirely possible that, even as people start signing up for Obamacare, the program won’t get much more popular at all, something Democrats have roundly expected. “If the ACA works as its sponsors hope, quite a lot of people — maybe the majority — who get their insurance from the exchanges will tell you that, no, they have private insurance,” Bernstein wrote recently in the American Prospect. ”They aren’t getting anything from Obamacare.”
I can't wait for the GOP to spin the success that the state's will have with the exchanges. I'm going to sit back and laugh my ass off.

Found this interesting. I've long believed the GOP would come top regret the Obamacare slur. Maybe not if their base remains this in the dark.

Ensnared. Trapped. What's the difference?0 -
UPS was cutting employed spouses from their plan. The theory being "If their own employers are required to provide them insurance then why should we bear the extra cost".
A lot of places are using Obamacare as an excuse to cut benefits. Look at their bottom lines and tell me they can't afford it.

as i have stated before, if a company can not afford to give their employees appropriate benefits, such as those fought for and guaranteed by unions, then they have no business being in business."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

The idea behind Obamacare was good, but the execution was flawed. I do think we would have gotten a better bill had the GOP chosen to participate in the process. Instead what we got is mediocre at best. Mandatory health insurance does not equal universal healthcare.___________________________________________

they refused to participate only so they could avoid blame and blame obama for the failure that the gop was trying to make happen. they can say "we repealed it 43 times" instead of saying "yeah we worked together to get the best possible law enacted".
voters are starting to see the benefits of obamacare, and eventually people are going to blame the gop for failing the american people by stonewalling instead of participating in the process and making this law better.
stalling and stonewalling is not offering a different plan, just like threatening to shut down the government is not an economic plan."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln
