according to some its 10c's fault that they didnt score tkts through tm, and people want to sue tm because they are being asked verification questions.

Takes a sick mofo to even have a thought like that cross their mind...
it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...

nah just want to get ticketmaster back, scalpers get tickets easy they have a lot of $ some of them especially the big broker companies, they have easily 10 computers going at one time, and from what I reado n this forum some people here use 1 phone and 1 laptop at the same time that only 2 connection so whatever, but scalpers have many, and it appears as THOUGH TICKETMASTER ALLOWS PEOPLE TO ACCESS THEIR ACCOUNT FROM MULTIPLE INTERNET OUTLETS ALL AT ONE TIME? SO I CAN BE LOGGED ON TO 10 DIFFERENT THINGS FOR EXAMPLE THAT HAVE INTERNET CONNECTION BUT THEN USE THE 1 ACCOUNT FOR ALL THOSE CONNECTIONS? THAT IS NOT FAIR EITHER, ticketmaster has many problems like this for example

WHY CANT TICKETMASTER BE SUED IF THEY ARE DOING THINGS UNFAIR? THEY SAY THEY TYPE THE WORDS TO PREVENT BOTS BUT NOTHING IS BEING DONE TO "AC TUALLY PREVENT BOTS AND SCALPERS FROM TAKING BETWEEN 7-12 PERCENT OF TICEKTS TO ALL SHOWS.. look at Calgary on stubhub 1866 available last I saw that that arena hold 18k ish, so 10 percent of tickets went to scalpers

THERE IS WAY TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM MAYBE? ONLY SELL TICKETS THE DAY OF THE SHOW? would that cause a riot? if not great idea first come first serve at the stadium, or have a stadium first sale where so many seats get sold at the stadium to begin with, like if a place holds 20,000 people . have a sale at the stadium for the best 10k seats, then sell the last 10k online, not fair to allow online all the tickets clearly the scalpers have figure out how to get the best seats for the most part in the public sales

they have gone a little too far, for this la sd show, ocne in a while instead of typing the box text it asks for which is hard sometimes I cnat read it, they ask multiple choice questions most of them are idiot questions, but I got one on usa poltics who barried in grants tomb, and some other weird one, this is kind of something they could get sued for? wtf does someone have to answer a multiple choice question to get tickets wtf :nono:

It was ridiculous! I never have been asked so many stupid questions and I couldn't even read half of them! I would have gotten way better seats if they didn't do that and waste my time!

yes I agree sometimes I get a bad word on first try and it wastes time thinking I could of get better seats if you can actually read the words every time,
what ticketmaster does that should be illegal, is they allow 1 account to log in to multi internet connections, so 1 account can be on 10 connections for example that is not fair. it should be 1 internet connection an account or else it gets cancelled, wouldn't stop scalping but might make it a little harder, the scalpers would have to use many email addresses and accounts then

also saying suing ticketmaster is ridiculous, so was suing mcdonalds for spilling coffee on yourself, but people won that lawsuit, people win lawsuits for dumb stuff.

ticketmaster asked a question about a president multiple choice who is barried in grants tomb? not everyone buying tickets is American, that is a racist question, why didn't they ask a question about argentina or something, then people would bitch about it too, that can be looked at as racist, why are you asking political questions that have nothing to do with a ticket sale?
  • I had decent seats and lost them because the Ticketmaster website couldn't process my request. Thankfully, I was able to get tickets, but they are nosebleeds sideview seats. Better than nothing.

First off, I've been shut out of many shows over the years, especially when I lived in NY. Ticketmaster has some shady practices but this is not all their fault. It's just supply and demand.

Let's say every single ticket for the Key Arena show was available to the buying public. Nothing put aside for 10C, the band, the crew, arena employees, etc. 20,000 tickets give or take.

Ticketmaster.com can process roughly 1000 orders per minute. I read this in a Wired or Gizmodo article before. Each person can buy four tickets. Therefore in one minute 4000 tickets gone. Five minutes - 20,000 tickets gone.

And realize that it's not just Seattle people putting in for this show. If this board is somewhat representative - many people all over the country are vying for this show. Some people around the world. Everyone has an equal, but poor chance at the tickets. What are we saying - 100,000 trying for a show? Let's be conservative - 50,000. That's 30,000 people getting shut out. That's a hell of a lot of people complaining about no tickets and feeling they were wronged somehow. If 10% of the buyers bought solely to resell on Stubhub, then pretty soon, you'll see 2000 tickets for the show available for inflated prices. Again, that's 30,000 people who are going to feel they got screwed.

And that is if every ticket was available and with an admittedly made up # of 50,000 people looking for tickets. Honestly, I think more people did. They were fewer tickets available and the reason for that is not entirely all bullshit. My guess is probably 10,000 tickets were available today?

Does TM put aside some tickets for their own resale? I don't know, maybe, probably. And that's wrong, but that number is going to be negligible when your demand is as a high as for a band that is as big as Pearl Jam.

Look, it's frustrating and I remember being broken-hearted at 15 years old when I was next in line and the seller came out and told us no more Grateful Dead tickets. And yes, some of the ways people get tickets to resell sucks, but to put it out there that the buying public is systematically being screwed - sorry I just don't see it.

Thanks for reading this. I'll sit back and watch people tear apart my argument now :)

some might say that mcdonalds was dumb for serving coffee that hot
just saying, that shit melted someones private parts :o
The scalpers will always be a step ahead of the regular folks that just want to go. It has always been that way. Back to the day ticket sellers were regional.

You also have to keep in mind contracts that are in place at many venues. Premium seats, usually the best ones, are often sold as NHL, NBA, and special events. For instance look at Dallas, you can buy access to the premium seats at center court/ center ice and have the first right of refusal for concert tickets.

Also, TM sucks but I don't want to sue them. Capitalism is great.

TICKETMASTER IS SOME FUCKIN BULLSHIT, THEY SAY PUT THE ANSWER IN THE BOX OR TYPE A WORD SOMETIMES YOU CANT READ IN THE BOX, BECAUSE THEY WANT TO PREVENT BOTS, YET 1000S OF BOTS ACCESS THERE SITE THAT HOW ALL THE TICKETS GET GOBBLED UP SO FAST

IT NOT FANS GETTING ALL THE TICKETS ARE YOU FUCKIN STUPID. A GOOD COUPLE THOUSAND TICKETS A SHOW QUITE POSSIBLE EACH GO ONSALE ON EBAY AND STUBHUB, THERE IS BOT PROGREAMS THAT SCALPERS USE, TO GET LIKE 6 TICKETS LIMIT AT ONCE , OR WHATEVER THE LIMIT IS THE BEST, THEN THEY CAN REENTER THE SYSTEM AGAIN QUICK, I have a friend does computer he doesn't hack but says the scalpers hack the system with bots, ticketmaster is too stupid or cant stop it. it getting worse with the more computers

it better before when people line up in line waiting to get tickets that is more fair

    Lol!!!!!

You realize people are laughing at you. Right? While you were throwing a fit here someone else offered up the tickets you needed in another thread. And they were taken by a nice fan. That could have been you. Lesson learned? Probably not.

    Maybe you'll understand this

IT'S YOUR FAULT YOU GOT SCREWRD BECAUSE YOU TRIED TO CHEAT THE SYSYEM. ITS YOUR FAULT YOU BOUGHT THE WRONG TICKETS.

I knew there would be bitching today but this is just toddler gibberish.

Exactly. And I would guess that those people - a premium seat holder for the Mavericks who may not like Pearl Jam or Beyonce, or Bieber, or whoever, but he gets access to a prime seat early, buys it, and puts it straight on Stubhub because he knows he'll turn a profit. The hell with that guy from our perspective, but that's what he paid for when he bought those season tickets. It's just a really bitter pill to swallow for fans of the music.

    1. Grant is buried in Grant's tomb. Not a hard question to answer.
    2. There is nothing stopping someone from creating 100 accounts and being on 100 computers. So stop with the one account can log on multiple times. If anything, TM will probably prevent someone from locking two sets of tickets at the same time which is good for everyone.
    3. When I was a kid we had to line-up in person outside the venue (which a lot of people did this time around). The venue would hold a lottery to determine your place in line. Five minutes before the lottery began, a van would pull up and about 10 homeless people would get out and line up for the ticket broker.
    4. It was hard to get a good ticket to any show because 10c secured the good tickets for the fan club.
    5. You could have used the phone app and not be asked any questions at all.

From what I can see, most of the people that I know that were trying for tickets got tickets.

Most of the people that got shut out of Wrigley got into Wrigley by being nice and going to the venue early the day of (Wrigley sold some tickets the day of) or went to the Wishlist party.
