Pearl Jam will play the BIG DAY OUT

Would a standard PJ arena tour with 13 shows be ideal? Of course. No one is denying that.
Personally, I think PJ are "better" than to have to come down to Australia to do the Big Day Out. They could easily sell out arenas, and likely stadiums, once more.
But their touring model has changed. They have different touring windows, timeframes etc.
They also might want to try something different. Who knows.
I think everyone has a right to critique the band's decision making but at the end of the day they don't owe us anything. The BDO will be fine I think. It's just a music festival.
I know other's disagree.Come to send, not condescend...0 -
Oh Dear not this rumour again...like a bad dream!
Only this time it may be real reading this thread.
Would be a shame but Id have to attend. Just not Sydney.
Please don't be trueI'll ride the wave where it takes me.0 -

I do not like your confidence

NZ would be nice to go to I reckon.Equipped with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and calls the adventure - science.

I've been going to Byron Bay Bluesfest every Easter for the past 5 years. I know it's an older age group, the music is different and it's not in the middle of summer but the crowds there were just massive this year due to big names such as Robert Plant and Iggy Pop and I survived.
So if it's a festival next year for PJ, so be it.Sydney, Australia - March 12, 1998; Sydney, Australia - February 14, 2003; Sydney, Australia - November 8, 2006; Sydney, Australia - November 25, 2006; Brisbane, Australia - November, 2009; Gold Coast, Australia - January, 2014, Gold Coast, Australia - November 20240 -

Adelaide.
So Adelaide and maybe a weekender somewhere like Sydney or Metricon. Maybe.Yeh I've seen Pearl Jam, too. But I can't remember the dates.0 -

4 years to wait for the band to return, for bloody festivals.
let's see if sideshows are announced.. but i doubt it unless bdos sell out immediately.
No sideshows.
Just because they aren't playing at your local pub and you have first pick of tickets, means you whine! They get a full 2hr set! They are playing all over Australia with a bill of other amazing bands! Do you think Europe or South America whine when they play festivals? I doubt it. Go and enjoy the band at a cool festival, or stop whining. You think they should be so privileged that they ask you what style of show they play?!
I expect pj in my loungeroom actually. and I want ed to serve me coronas between songs!
but seriosuly yeh I do expect to have first pick at tickets, as that's primarily what I've paid about $150 for since the last tour in membership fees. so I reckon I have a decent argument there.
and a full 2 hour set for $185. awesome. what I really wouldn't like is a full 2.5hr set for about $130.
Europe doesn't whine when they get festival shows because they invariably get sideshows, and then another tour 6 months later.
i'll enjoy the band, but it won't be at a cool festival. it will be at an average festival loaded with bands that i'm paying to see but have absolutely zero interest in.Yeh I've seen Pearl Jam, too. But I can't remember the dates.0 -
Bottom line is Big Day Out needs Pearl Jam a whole lot more than Pearl Jam need the Big Day Out.0

Anyone know how quickly the BDO sells out these days? I guess it may depend on the line-up, but how much breathing room would there be?
By the way, in answer to a question posed before, I was a grumpy and miserable prick at 22. I am 34 now and still a miserable prick. I reckon that will change when the opening chords ring out.
The festival thing may not be ideal, but I would see Pearl Jam at a sewerage plant if I had to.0 -
