Ok, check it out; I'm just as excited as anyone about this news. But does the title make any of you a little nervous? Is it just me or is "Mind Your Manners" somewhat underwhelming?
Don't get me wrong, it might be the best song they've ever recorded. I hope it is, but there's just something not sitting right with me about that title. The Fixer and WWS were bad ass names for singles but this one sounds like it was written by the Supernanny.

I think the lyrics were written by Kat. She's always telling us to mind our manners over on AMT.....

Mind your manners, yeah yeah yeah
Mind your manners, yeah yeah yeah
If something's rude, I'm gonna put a little manner on it
If shipping's cheap, I'm gonna put a little raise on it
If there's no tour, I'm gonna put it off for a little bit
Yeah yeah yeah
I'm not as angry any more: Mind your manners
I'm not as raging anymore: Mind your manners
I'm not as cynical no more: Mind your manners

I'm having a hard time deciding which of these lines I want to have tattooed on my arm. :problem:
someone posted on grungereport that the new album title is "ghost riders". he also included the track titles and that it will be released on july 16th.
What are you people talking ? Ive been listening to the new Pearl Jam album which they have already titled: Ghost Riders , for months now. Right there in bold.
Epic Records
Today's present Pearl Jam fan would know that Pearl Jam left Epic / Sony Music many year's ago. They have their very own record label which is Monkey Wrench Records. Folks can tell from their last record Backspacer that there is no Epic logo on the back of the cover, any wheres!
Can understand folks are going nuts, waiting for the new PJ album.

Wow. Had to edit that. I'm on two hours of sleep and it's showing...
Ed said during the PJ20 documentary that he didn't think it was necessary to spend a lot of time on lyrics. So after 4 years you get "mind your manners".*
*of course this could all be a hoax but the worst part of PJ20 was Ed's revelation of less focused and thought out lyrics. Definition of pop music. I used to print out the lyrics for a lyric book but no need to do that anymore. Certainly there are a few songs that have good lyrics on the new stuff. The throwaway songs like Satan's Bed have infinitely better and more creative lyrics than what is written now.

So cool to read this because when my brother and I were watching this and Ed said that, we both slowly turned to look at each other in disbelief. We wanted to scream "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!?" After 20 years he's decided that lyrics don't have to be three-dimensional and whatever else he mumbled. That's like Mike saying he's realized his guitar doesn't have to be in tune.
I'm a very lyric-driven person and without Ed's lyrics, Pearl Jam is just another rock band. Sorry, but that's how I feel and Ole and Backspacer are perfect examples of that. I'm nervous about this next album but I still believe they can surprise us.

yeah, the info was deleted because it was wrong, label said "Republic" when in fact the label is SAYS Records...
All Access is very reliable. It's an excellent source for info for ratio stations and the music industry.
Thanks for replying, I was wondering because I don't live in the states...
I love how content stone looks at the set of songs on the Single. "Yup, I made this and it is quality."
