I was offered $300 each outside the show.
I turned him down without thinking about it.

Peter Gabriel for the So tour in 1986 in a small club for 300 people in Montreal. The show was announced in the morning by the local rock station. For a ticket you had to run to the venue and get a bracelet with the ticket. Only 300 bracelets were given away. I then saw him the two following nights at the Forum with 20000 people.
Eddie Vedder in Montreal in 2008 with my 7 months pregnant wife. First row centre seats.
Pearl Jam in Montreal in 2011 - First row through 10 C lottery.
Pearl Jam in Toronto in 2011 - Got to hear Chloe Dancer in person.

For me the Vic and David Lynch Foundation Benefit/Beatles Reunion + EV.
My brother got to go to the Boston show of the Mike Watt tour that included as openers Hovercraft (with EV on drums) and Foo Fighters before their first album was even released. I am very fucking jealous of that.
Front row center to Pearl Jam at the Mt. Baker Theater. I was going to school in B'ham at the time, and was told about the show from my then boss. I didn't completely buy the fact that PJ would play Bellingham, but I did as she said and ended up being at the front of the line for tickets. I was offered $1200 for my two tickets and I never even considered parting with them. Then the following night I stood outside the Commodore Ballroom without tickets and waited patiently. About 1/3 of the way through the set, they let those of us in line into the venue at no cost. Completely awesome nights back to back.
I remember first show in Boston 06 being the easiest show for getting tickets, they got posted like 2 minutes before the time they were supposed to be up, I clicked through on the first try and was done before the on sale time.
Wasn't really hard to get PJ 20 tickets via live nation, I bought lawn tickets for day 1 and pavilion seats for day 2 like a month before the gig.
10th Anniversary show 10-22-00 in Vegas.
Borgata 1
both shows had no tickets and went up to the box office when i first arrived with no luck, then back an hour or so later and scored tickets. Vegas show waited in line with about 5 other people and got great seats one section over from stage on the side. Borgata went up when 1st arrived around 4:00 in the afternoon with no luck, played some blackjack, had to pee, buddy said check box office again, did and almost shit when the guy said how many you need. went back to playing blackjack and went on a run to even pay for the tickets. both were great nights.

The MSGs in 2010...couldn't believe I was finally going to get to see my favorite band live, especially at such a great moment in my life. I was about a month shy of graduating HS, everything was carefree, I was getting particularly close with the people who are still my best friends, and had a great summer lined up. So PJ on top of that? Icing on the cake! And I was genuinely the happiest I've ever been at those shows!

Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.
I've always been pretty good at getting tickets, so it's not horribly often I would doubt my own ability to acquire tickets to an event. Even though the Gorge 05, Seattle 02, and Groundwork 2001 were all done by lottery, I was never in such doubt, that I was amazed when I got the email to say i'd won. If I hadn't won the 10c lotteries I would just bought them off TM
However,
The show at the Commodore in Vancouver in 2000. That was a tough nut to crack. For two reasons:
1) You couldn't win tickets as a prize if you'd already won another prize within the preceding months. This sucked because they'd had a contest where they would play a song in the morning, and when they played it again during the day you called in, and if you were caller 9, you won $1000. One saturday morning the song was Better man. I won the $1000 which was awesome, but when the announced the PJ show I was screwed.
2) You couldn't buy tickets or scalp them. There were no tickets. You had to pick up some kind of invite thing, and they had your name on a list when you arrived. This made it really hard to get tickets. I had 99.9 the fox on all the time. Failed all over the place. I finally got lucky and they were asking a question to people, of what Mike's current side project was. Everyone was getting it wrong. As soon as I heard my phone line go active. I was like it's the Rockford's!!!!! it's the motherf'ing rockfords!!!! hahaa.
To solve my problem in part 1. I said I was a friend of mine, and used his ID to get into the show
I never thought I'd get to see PJ play a bar, so thats the one show out of the hundreds of concerts i've been to that I was in slight disbelief that I'd won tickets
Chrysler Arena -Ann Arbor MI 1994 Tickets went on sale at 5PM. They announced it on the radio at about 4:45. I was driving home from work on payday. Two ticket limit-cash only. This was how they tried tried to screw the scalpers and get the tickets to the fans.
