I don't think what you're suggesting solves a problem. I think it causes a BIGGER problem.

Eh. I'm of the mind let folks do what they want. If 10C allowed singles to be sold, some (not all) of this would be eliminated. You can't demand folks buy MORE than they need then chastise them for getting rid of it.

AMEN, dimi.... You had better believe that if I had a spare, I would rather it go to to a 10c member than anyone else. That being said, I'd either trade fairly, give it away, or sell it for face value (or even less) depending on the situation.

Lately, I haven't been seeing the same camaraderie that has kept me here for so long. We used to be like a huge family- everyone helps everyone. Now there are a few that are almost ruining that bond for a lot of us.

Honestly, I'm one of the many that was shut out of 10c tix and the public sale. I'm looking for 3 tix. Anywhere, together or separate. I refuse to pay $500 or $5000, especially to those brokers and scalpers that are just trying to make a buck. I'll give face value, plus throw in dinner and drinks. I need to be there to see my favorite band, in my favorite place, with my favorite people. And one way or another, I will be.

And, you just offered over face - how is dinner and drinks not > Binaural? Are you offering MickeyD's?

I still am on the side that if two sides are happy, the trade is okay. I know a rule is a rule and if I was in this boat, I would just go around the rule like someone mentioned above. I would sell my Binaural for $84, then turn around and buy the tickets for $84 from the same person. Two separate transaction, and I didn't break any rules. In fact, I did a good thing. I just hooked up a fan for an $84 Binaural, and I got a fantastic ticket for face value.

I know people will think this is just going around the rule and that it is cheating, but in the end, both parties are happy and no rules were technically broken.

And if you miss the concert, it's gone. Not going to happen again. You can always find the LP again.

Personally, I think people should be able to do what they want. I find offering to buy drinks all night and other merch to be more inappropriate then a trade for any item, regardless of current market value.

I'd never trade vinyl for a concert ticket - there's always another show to attend (though the FC doesn't guarantee that any longer). However, if you're like me, you purchased your Binaural(s) at retail originally and didn't pay ANYWHERE near the market prices.

So in that case, what originally cost well under $20 for a record in exchange for a ticket over $80 at face is unfair...to the ticket seller.

It's all in the eye of the beholder. And no, i'd never sell my Binaurals for face. The market is what it is. Always.

Who cares what anyone does with their things? If it's not your cup of tea, order a cup of something else.

If I put a gun on your head and take you money then we both gonna be happy cause I took the money and you saved your life. Ok this is just a little childish example but this is more or less. Getting my hand on Binaural, or any other vinyl is hard and someone taking advantage of my wish to see the band is not good. Furthermore this could start a new trend here with people not planing to go to a show taking part in the draw, and then if it happens to win they will end up with vinyls and other collectible things in their hand. Who could check that this is not gonna happen?
