There I said it. I think it sucks and they should have asked what the fan club members want. To just think they could play a show in my backyard and I could get shut out because of a ticking draw is BS! Go back to the way it was or perhaps go back to the way it used to be long ago when you could only get one set of tickets per tour. This new system sucks especially since they no longer do the massive touring they used to.

Okay haters start hating :D

You haven't even seen it in action yet.

Sheesh. Some people will complain about anything.

For PJ20, I spent all day at my computer. Go back to that? No way.

The best tickets should go to the people who camped out all night in the cold, or spent the day hitting F5 to get them. Not to some random lottery winner! What's next... college admissions done via lottery instead of rewarding the kids who studied the hardest? Only a very small vocal (whining) minority wanted this lottery system.

If you want to complain about something, how about people who let their membership lapse and then get their old number back? That seems far worse than a lottery system. Heck, it was a gamble before with whether you could luckily get through at the right moment that you had available and not have the server get overwhelmed before you purchased.

Really? Not everyone has a job that will permit you to F around hitting F5 all day...that doesn't make that person less deserving to score tickets. I really like this system, everyone has a fair shot and if I don't get tickets the world won't end.

I think many people will see dividends when they announce the fall tour, esp if they hit some small market towns. If PJ plays in Pittsburgh (just saying guys..new arena!), I have no reason to try for tickets in Philly...but then again maybe i'm in the minority of people who are satisfied with going to 1 or 2 shows tops on a tour?

I don't think anyone who put in for tickets to Wrigley will have a tough time getting tickets. Of course, maybe not their 1st choice, but the place holds a lot of people. I don't forsee it being an issue. That show is going to be like one big 10c only show.

Agreed! People really need to stop complaining. This way is most importantly FAIR in that everyone has an equal chance and also doesn't have to waste time at work (when some of us don't have it) to get the tickets. Makes no sense for people to complain about this system.

I agree, if your membership number lapses, it should be gone. People need to take personal responsibility for their actions. But the old system was not a gamble, because I won 100% of the time.

The only reason we have the lottery system is because of people complaining! Everyone had an equal chance in the old system, some just didn't put in the effort needed. Spending time to accomplish a personal goal (such as obtaining 10C tickets) is never a waste. It's sad that people would take a greatly diminished chance of scoring tickets in exchange for not putting in any effort.

The notion that people are held back by their job has been debunked. If your job doesn't allow you to get tickets while you work, then you take vacation. If you don't want to take vacation to get tickets because you want to use it for other purposes, then 10C tickets just aren't a priority to you. Regardless, if you have the sort of job (like a teacher) that makes taking vacation very tough, then you enlist the help of someone else. It's not that hard if you plan.

I agree with all of this except "playing with our nerves."

Before, they would announce a tour on the Monday, tickets would go on sale Tuesday/Wednesday afternoon. With the new system, I'm stressed about tickets for a whole week!:lol::lol:
  • score or not will take you less than a minute to find out...you just have to open your email sent from 10c or check your ticket page at your acount...

    less than a minute...

and after that, you continue your day...

Petition all you want, it's not going to happen. Anything is better really than the clusterfuck that was F5, even though I did well with it, it was a clusterfuck regardless.

Did it ever occur to anyone that perhaps the reason the lottery is in place (the technology to upgrade & improve on the old system is readily available) is because the band got sick & tired of seeing the same faces up front for a vast majority of shows? It's no secret over the last few years Ed in particular has been left frustrated by this.

And this is coming from someone who is typically up front.

Wouldn't doing away with Seniority seating further accomplish this goal?

Honestly, I don't think that's a reason at all b/c if it were, that's the solution.

The lottery was what they think is the fairest, best customer service way to do it. Yes, it gives more folks tickets (thus their view on fairness, I suppose). But, it doesn't change the faces up front. They'll just be spread out over more shows. The people 40 rows back will now be 20 rows back to a given show (let's just say). The 1st 10 rows will still be the same.

I'm still not getting how the tide is that the ticket thing is fair, but 20 year olds should be shut out from the front because they weren't Alive (forgive the pun), yet us old farts should be guaranteed rows 3 through 8 b/c we were. Pure silliness if you ask me.

Make everything a lottery and be done with it.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

    Funny stuff..

You have spent the last 7-10 days whining, bitching, moaning, and complaining. And now you compare concert tickets to college admissions? I have been waiting a while to say this.

I really hope to God YOU get shut out.

With the lottery there is no guarantee as to which member will be scattered where throughout the venue, so the argument that the same faces would still be seen up front isn't valid. Some new faces, some old faces, with a high degree of randomness. It's been argued a younger member now has as much chance as an older member to score tickets.

As for seniority, it will never be eliminated. Seniority is what keeps members renewing year after year, and creates a steady and generous revenue stream to fund the band's operational costs.

Don't disagree with 2nd part, but your first part is wrong. The same faces would be up front. They won't be "scattered."
