10c presale fan club tix
old system
1000 pairs of fan club tix
sold out to 1000 10c members
news system
1000 pairs of fan club tix
sold out to 1000 10c members
same number of people score, same number of people shut out
if you shut out with the new system, means someone else got the tix,as was with the old ssystem
old system, you waste time,,a day of work, get angry, cursing, you cancel everything for the day,you should have faster internet possible,be in different browsers, know the tricks
new system ..just 1 min of your time, and knows that no one can score the tix than you,for any other reason than luck..
goal is the same..score a fan club pair for the show...
no..you dont have to be Einstein to understand what system is fair, quick ,better.
its so easy to see it..
I believe you're in the wrong thread here sir. There is no need to convince people that the lottery is in any way better.0 -
yes,you are right Sir,,my mistake..im the only one did it in this thread,talking and comparing the 2 systemsI'm a Truck wrote:dimitrispearljam wrote:exable...

Your math reasoning is flawed... The new lottery system will have more people trying for the same 1000 pair of tickets, so more people (who try) will be shut out with the lottery, thus if you were a user of both systems you had a better chance of getting tickets in the old system and a better chance of getting shut out with the lottery. (Using the example of the most desirable shows, some shows won't see the same amount of requests)
Maybe it's my particular bend, but I have a hard time replacing a system where hard work, effort and a little luck with appropriate rewards are replaced with a redistribution for the sake of fairness via just being there and asking... (to those who argue on polictics this likely sounds familiar, huh??)
As I understand it, seniority will still work... Of 1000 lotto winners those will be ranked by member number for seat assignments (save rows 1, 2. 9 and 10 which are assigned randomly)
Sign me up in favor of the old system...1996: Randall's Island I, Hartford

if tomorrow there is a presale with lotteryvfor atlanta show ,ill not try to enter the lottery..same with f5,ill not try to score..cos i dont want to see that show..and dont want 10c to hold money from my card

before we crucify this process lets give it a shot first...for me personally i cant sit on the computer refreshing all day at work so in that aspect its good
change is hard to accept sometimes...at least this band is actually coming from the stone age and trying something new
only issue i have is 10c holding on to almost 500 bucks of my money till next week
here is to hoping everyone gets a fair shake and gets what they want, if not then the world keeps spinning0 -

Next time don't sign up for tickets until the last day. Then your money is only held for like 1 day.
Nothing changes whether you sign up the last day tickets are available or the first day.
As to the new or old system.
I liked the old system, cause I never failed to get tickets.
However, If I put my selfish, greedy, fuck you, nature aside,
It is easy to see that the new system is much better for everyone. More fair. Less bitching. Less time wasted.
Doesn't penalize someone who has a job that can't take the day off.
Doesn't penalize someone with a slower computer.
Doesn't penalize someone who has a life to attend to while the F5 party is happening.
It's just better. That is easy to see.0 -

So at what point does the OP declare this petition unsuccessful? With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0

they need to fix some details at the lottery, and thats all..
good work 10c,thank you for stop wasting our times, playing with our nerves, for score a pair of tickets at a rock show..
good luck to all at monday
I think they found the solution by doing it through ticketmaster which was capable of handling the traffic. I'd rather be in control of my fate when getting tickets rather than some random drawing. I've played the lottery for years and still haven't won. Really blows that I'm being forced to play another in order to get ticket privileges that I pay for but apparently have no say in anymore.
Here's an idea how about a server upgrade that can handle the amount of traffic the site takes when it comes to ticketing. I'm sure the millions of dollars the fan club memberships provide in revenue could have easily paid for it.Makes much more sense.................

they find a final solution, that will not crash, will not need time, will no need apologies after and many other reasons,+they have the sale at their system than give it to someone like ticket master..Kevin Wilson wrote:dimitrispearljam wrote:they didnt have to ask us...

we ask it all this years to do it..they finally did it..
this is how will play for now,i understand that people dont like it,is normal, cos they say never shut out before, but the same time, knowing the previous system, and how myself before 2010 i never scored, and after 2010 that i learn the "tricks"i never shut out till today, and we are talking about the most difficult presales, like pj20-canada 11,europe 12,i really dont believe anymore, anyone says that i want to control my fate....time more different members won tix,cos i know alot of members, that never scored in the past...and alot says here i never shut out..time to change this..
the 10c want it,the band want it...and in the end..lets wait next week..when we will see the first post here, that will say...i score for the first time 10c tix...
and i have to add, that im from those that goes to more than one shows per tour, lottery make it more hard for me to score 10c tix more than once with the priority at shows you wanna go ,but im more than ok,cos its more fair, fast, and more different members will score fan club tix"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".

So the best way would then be the current way and anyone within a certain distance of the venue's zip code get's first crack at the show...and rightfully so if it's pretty much in their hometown and then anyone outside of that radius is next.I Know All The Rules But The Rules Do Not Know Me.0

Exactly man. I see 100% success for all members who get in the lottery getting tickets. This place is so big, it's eV's home town, it's their first US show in a while, and they know how much everyone wants to see them. That's why they are playing somewhere huge like Wrigley. So it can be a mostly Tenclub celebration. Now if they do a 30 or 40 show US tour then some people may miss out for the more popular shows. But then again, who the hell has the money or credit to tie up the funds for a 30 show tour. Just because PJ is playing a show doesn't mean every Tenclub member in the world will try for tickets. Be blessed that they actually listened to us after Alpine and did something about it.0 -
how about a petition to do away with stupid petition threads0

Others pay for ticket privileges too and this systems allows everyone an equal shot for the equal payments they make to be in the system. The old lottery was when the fan club decided to sell tickets at a given time and hopefully it fit with your schedule. So it was always a lottery, just on different terms.
I like the music, not being 10 feet from the band. I guess not everyone is that way.0 -
Okay I haven't really been following this new ticket system stuff. But with an upcoming Fall Tour to be announced, I guess I need to learn about it.
so what exactly is the new system? Can't we all just get along?

Here's what I know, Pearl Jam is playing a concert in the US that is not on Labor Day (difficult when you have elementary age children) and I am going. Woohoo.
Ok, back to your regularly scheduled infighting
Seriously though, I think there are pros and cons and fair and unfair aspects to both systems. I do think the new system will cause more people to try, for example me and friend are both trying, whereas back in 2010 only one of us did. Now we'll just bring along others if we both win where we wouldn't have consumed four tickets or brought "outsiders" otherwise. On the other hand, the new way is going to be less stressful, win or lose, which is also a big plus.
PS "outsiders" was not meant to convey PJ elitism. Just that we all have friends that will go to a concert for the fun of it but aren't crazy PJ fans like us.0 -

Yes I feel that way too, but we are in the minority, and the majority wins. I liked the idea that harder and smarter effort seemed to equal higher chance of getting tickets, (It always worked for me) but I think you just have to let it go. They're not going to change back IMO and this is the way it is.R.i.p. Rigoberto Alpizar.
