Petition to do away with the new ticketing system.

I have 2 small kids and a full time job. My work takes me away from my desk for days at a time. I'll take the lottery.
And I was 100% on the old system. One of those took pulling over for 2 hours at a kinko's in Odessa, TX and paying by the minute to use the Internet. This show, another show, a show here and a show there.0 -
Learned something about the new system. Right after using my card to enter the lottery my card was cancelled for unrelated security concern. I contacted 10c to see what happens if I win and the tickets are charged to a cancelled card. They told me that the new system has a fail safe. If payment doesn't go through when they win for some reason 10c will email you and get a different card number from you and you won't lose the tickets. That's great that they do that! ... not sure if they used to do that too... the person just said that this was built into the new system, as though it was a new thing, but maybe not. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0

I much prefer the new system. I just can't take the time from work to hit F5. If the ticket sales were on a Saturday that would be a different story, but I work a regular schedule, it's just not realistic for me.
With that being said, I'm dying to find out about Wrigley. . . . the suspense is driving me nuts.0 -

they need to fix some details at the lottery, and thats all..
good work 10c,thank you for stop wasting our times, playing with our nerves, for score a pair of tickets at a rock show..
good luck to all at monday
I agree with all of this except "playing with our nerves."
Before, they would announce a tour on the Monday, tickets would go on sale Tuesday/Wednesday afternoon. With the new system, I'm stressed about tickets for a whole week!

It's starting to become very apparent that the more time one has to hit F5 all day to score tickets is in direct proportion to the amount of time that one has to complain, whine, etc.skere26 wrote:"The best tickets should go to the people who camped out all night in the cold, or spent the day hitting F5 to get them. Really? Not everyone has a job that will permit you to F around hitting F5 all day...

You just misinterpreted the meaning of the post. I was implying that there could be hypocrisy based on the liberal nature of this board that on one hand 10c tickets should go to those who earn them and on the other hand the government should pay for everything and nothing should be earned.
The last sentence in my post should have given this point away.
But the assumption in your post is that EVERYONE on this board is liberal. I for one am conservative, and figure most of the people who want to earn tickets are too. That's why your post doesn't make sense.bootlegger10 wrote:Well said.

I've mentioned this in other threads, but I'm just hoping that one day the Ten Club will let us buy single tickets...surely not everybody wants to buy a pair.PJ: Sydney, 11th February 2003 ♥ Sydney, 26th January 2014 ♥ EV: Sydney, 20th March 2011 ♥ EV: Perth, 7th February 2014 ♥ EV: Perth, 8th February 2014 ♥ EV: Sydney, 11th February 2014 ♥ EV: Sydney, 12th February 2014 ♥ EV: Sydney, 13th February 2014 ♥ EV: Brisbane, 22nd February 2014 ♥ EV: Brisbane, 23rd February 2014 ♥ EV: Brisbane, 25th February 2014 ♥

This last time, buying for Lollapalooza Brazil 2013 I was in Chicago for vacation and had a taste of YOUR broadband highspeed internet...
what they have the courage to call the same thing here, in Sao Paulo, a city as big and crouded as NY, is a joke. A so called speed as high as 50 or 100 megabites is as slow as a turtle. The internet network here and in another countries is not as fast and good as in the US or some parts of Europe, so the old ticketing system was not very fair for everyone.
even when the concert was in some US State, that was someone complaining about not being able to be in front of the computer all day. So lets see how this new one works out.
You had me at "I'm from Brazil"
Me-ow!!!!
I really believe that the 10C brain trust does this after reading some of these threads.

Scrap the current lottery and run a Willy Wonka Golden ticket style one instead.0 -

7 year old? Only one person is throwing a temper tantrum here, and that is you.
I am content with my position on this one.0 -

Well in my world time is money. So If people don't have to waste time at the computer terminal then they are not losing that productivity.
You choose to click a button and call it effort. In that manner it is the same thing. You are wasting time/money.
So now let's say that you score tickets 3/4 times. You can then take the cash from the time you would have wasted at the computer. It's the same thing.
Time is money.
Do you get comfortable in life by throwing away hours of the day?0 -

It never did for me. I was always able to score tics for the shows I wanted to attend. Being from right out side of Cincinnati in Indiana the band swings through here around every 5-6 years so if I want to see them I have to travel which adds added expense ect.. I probably wouldn't be so opposed to the new system if they didn't just cater to certain parts of the U.S. (yes this means the east coast and Chicago and west) So with less shows more people are willing to travel which means the odds of scoring tickets go down. If they did nation wide tours like 2006 it wouldn't be so bad and I probably wouldn't complain at all as they would probably come closer. Let's face facts, they'll probably never tour like that again.
In all reality they might as well go the route that so many other bands have and take all the good seats and offer packages for them. I myself would rather spend my hard earned money on that, know where I'll be sitting in advance and won't have to worry about any of the bullshit like, will I get my name drawn or will I have to set around the computer all day trying to score tickets.
The band used to provide affordable tickets. I dug up my ticket from the 96 Savage Hall show in Toledo, Oh. it was $20. If I'm going to spend $168 on a set of tickets and really have no clue where they are at I'd rather spend a little more to pick my seats and know.Makes much more sense.................

Oh, cool. That's pretty awesome! I'd hate to see someone get screwed just because their card was/had to be cancelled. Thanks for passing the info along!"Where's KW?"

Quite the contrary. You have chosen to misinterpret my word, as in singular, not plural as you misstated.
The only correlations here are grandiose and bizarre. Comparing procuring concert tickets to attaining admission to college? The welfare system?
Apples and oranges.
Real life changing events versus attending a two hour rock concert.
I don't see any correlation in that whatsoever.Nice shirt.0 -
Maybe the band should do more shows as to lower ticket demand? The band tours are so small now that people have gotten used to the fact they have to travel to see them (as the band rarely travels to them).
It's driving up ticket demand. Either system still screwed over fan club members.
Doing one show in the NorthEast is asking for an angry mob?
