    They should move MLK day to that day. Justify it by saying that February is Black History Month.

    So now the Rooney rule isn't good enough? I totally understand you need diversity, but teams shouldn't feel that they have to hire a coach/GM based on their skin color. Organizations are going to hire a coach/GM that they think is going to be successful. Plain and simple.

    seems like everyone is picking the niners and ravens (at least to cover). i think the first game is going to be a close one. the fact that the falcons have played so many mobile qb's this year, including last week, is to their advantage. niners defense is so tough, though. little leery about the young qb on the road, in a dome. but i think the niners are the better team and they come out on top.

    pats/ravens games always seem to be close. this year, i just think the pats, even without gronkowski, are the overall better team in pretty much every area except defending the pass (though they're improved since acquiring talib). think they win by at least 10 points.

    I think the Rooney rule leads to, for a lack of a better term, too many "token" interviews for black coaches. I don't remember which team it was but a few year ago a team was gung-ho on hiring a coach. Everybody knew they wanted him. But they had to honor the Rooney rule. So they trotted Art Shell in for an interview even though he had no chance at getting the job. I think that's worse than not getting an interview to begin with.

    Agreed. The combination of "Harbaugh Bowl" plus "Ray Lewis playing in his final game" will piss me off. It already pissed me off this morning when I flipped by Sportscenter and it said "Ray Lewis playing in his final game?" I changed it immediately. Fuck Baltimore. Fuck Ray Lewis. Beat the shit out of Baltimore, Patriots.
