  • I cant stand listening to these commentators on TNF. I have to have some volum, but low enough that I can't make out every word and I can tune them out.

Is there a internet radio link or anything I can listen to instead? I prefer listening along, but I just can't tolerate these two.

I've tried the internet radio link ... It's usually a few seconds behind tv :lol::lol:, how bout no volume and crank pearl jam.

That's exactly what I started doing 30 seconds before reading your post lol. I'd rather follow the game with commentators, but I've lost interest in the game right now. So this is working for me right now.

Are either of you old enough to remember when they tried having a game with no commentators in 1980? I was only a baby, so I only know of it from a commemorative Wheaties box I used to have from the 75th season that had a bunch of little trivia facts on it. At times I think I wish they'd do that again, but at the same time it might be kind of awkward and maybe boring. And there are times I need these assholes to let me know what the hell just happened.

That's what I figured. I remember one time I was watching a game and some technical difficulty put the commentators out of the game for a little bit, and it was really strange. Almost eerie.

    Here's a story I found about it...

Naw I would've been 4 or 5 when they did that. I never knew they experimented with no volume. I'd love to have just plain silence more often. Just listen in to the sounds of the game and the crowd. Sometimes these guys just talk too goddamn much. Too many obvious statements and stupid observations we could do without. So a little bit of both would be perfect, but just not with Mayock and his "partner." Give me Buck and Aikman, or that guy that sounds like Anderson Cooper, or even Marv Albert's son- what's his face- and I'd be happy.

  • Interesting that the Vikings went with Matt Cassel instead of Josh Freeman there. Why'd they pick Freeman up if they're not gonna use him?

The Saints already over 300 hundred yards :lol::lol:. Tony Romo :lol::lol:. Absolutely no way he should start second half, he hasn't been sharp since the Denver, and the cowboys will be tied for the division lead ... What a joke the NFC East is :lol::lol:.

so who do you all think will win the NFC East now?

Before this week i would have said the Cowboys but after today who knows. I would think probably either the Eagles or Giants have the best shot. :?

Oddly enough I can still see Dallas winning it ... They are tied at the bye, but are really leading it because they hold the tie breakers, I said before that I think the division will be decided between the eagles and cowboys on week 17.

Fat ass Rob looks amped. I'll have to see what Drew Pearson says about this one on his post-game show. He's about the only one who doesn't bullshit. Babe Laufenberg has Jerry's hand up his ass.

That Cowboy D sucks ... they have 2 players thats it, Lee and Ware ... but Ware is clearly not healthy and getting up their in years.

    Romo did not play well.

Yeah, Cowboys D were shredded. Losing Lee hurt, and whatever's up with Ware, but Brees was on fire and he was going to probably pick them apart anyway. And the offense didn't help matters. Romo played like shit and the Saints defense played pretty good. But they couldn't adjust to Dez getting double teamed, and that pretty much shut the entire offense down. 40 first downs is unbelievable. There's no denying that's a shitty defense allowing a record like that, but at the same time it doesn't help when your offense goes 3 and out almost every drive. I think they only had 2 actual drives. The others were 3-5 plays and out.

I agree with everything you've stated ... and sadly no quick fix for this D is possible.

  • Wow the Cowboys were embarrassing tonight. From the D to the O, including Romo. They absolutely stunk. What a piss-poor performance. Philadelphia might be in first place next week and when the cowboys come back after the bye week, the Giants could be 1 game behind them. What a joke. :fp:

That was a horrible game but did any Cowboys fan (myself included) expect them to have any chance in this game? In the end it only counts as 1 loss, I'm much more frustrated with them blowing the Detroit game than the way they lost this one. The injuries are starting to pile up though. This defense was doomed the moment they brought in Kiffin as the D coordinator. They can probably still win the division but that isn't anything to be proud of this year :fp:

Everybody knows what the real problem is in Dallas and it has been for years, it all starts and ends with Jerry Jones.

    This!

As a USC Alum I can tell you all about an old man living on a reputation forged years ago and totally out of touch with the way football is played these days.
Sad...I like him personally, he seems like a great guy. Certainly he has had a great career. He looked completely out-matched in the college game and his return to the pros shows that it remains true.

And this sums up the problems with tis team under Garrett, they blow where are you! to many of these games. Instead of winning these games and building a little cushion for what appears to be sure loss's, his team finds a where are you! to lose. The only coach that should be back is Rod Marinelli. This defence needs to now be totally rebuilt ... with salary cap issues next year, no quick fix is in order.

Manning looked pretty beat up at the end of the Chargers game.

In other news, Scott Tolzien is the official starting QB of the Green Bay Packers. Is not now the time to Unleash The Tebow? How many more QB's must He smot before someone signs him?
