    or just say you are a God and see how they handle that revelation. if they say prove it, calmly say faith requires no proof you simply must believe that i am a God and that i do exist.. for would i be standing before if i did not.... then run for your life. ;)8-)

    uh... brain asked "what year is this?" All I can add is "what nation do we live in?"
    Two states I've never been to; Tennessee and Kentucky. Now, I'm finding a greater pang to go there. See for myself if I can detect something cumulatively odd about Kentuckians!
    PS. with that said, the one memory I have that must be responsible for ignighting my patriotism can be easily traced to standing in rain, snow or shine to say the pledge of Allegiance every morning at 9 a.m. sharp when I was in gradeschool. Guess I'm a sucker for some traditions & symbolism and the word God does not offend me in the least.

    Exactly. Hell, the Canadian national anthem has the line "God, keep our land glorious and free" in it, and I sing the song proudly, and oppose those who have suggested it should be taken out, even though I'm an atheist. We're not talking about people being overly sensitive about God here. We're talking about something sinister in government.

    thank you PJ Soul for getting my point. Catafrance; the very idea we live in 2012 yet a new law has been written about religious preferance with imprisonment consequences says it all.
    As for God, I'm simply stating my own comfort zone. God is a term used to describe all that is omnipotent.
    I do not know with certainty any more than every devout of brand X, theologian, expert or athiest but here's the key: they don't know with any more certainty than you and I do either. That is why all-thats-not-known, and that's allot, resides under terms like universal intelligence, intelligent design, or the God-factor and why this little zit on the ass of it all is just fine with the use of God. It's the shortest term to describe above para.

    That is my viewpoint... the only thing we KNOW about God is... we don't know. And we know that NO ONE KNOWS because God (or whatever term is use) is beyond our current level of consciousness within this physical state of being. Not priests... not theologists... not Prophets... not Saints... not any human being, especially Politicians.
    We have belief, hope and faith to help guide us through uncertainty... but, we have to understand that Knowledge is knowledge and is certainly not belief... just as belief is belief... not knowledge.

    "Science" is also a pretty short term. That's the one Atheists tend to like. Certainly not intelligent design, universal intelligence, or the God-factor, just FYI. ;)

    Agree with this - sort of like how I think of god as nature...if there's anything I believe in, it's that.

    I also agree about the lack of certainty; I believe some "believe they know", but I don't believe that they - anyone who believes or doesn't or falls in-between - CAN know...if that makes sense.
