stone is funny! and his shyness is actually quite entertaining IMHO. last year in vienna he did make eye contact with me a few times and looked away immediately as if embarassed.
and I love the beard and the hat look!

Max capacity of this venue is 60 000, or maybe even 70 000.

Found this on wiki, capacity is 47,246 so i'd say there were 25-30k at the gig.

47,246 seats, to be precise, which makes about 70k overall with floor. About 45k tickets were sold.

Okay...i was at this show...and i haven't read each reply yet...so i apologize if some of what i am saying was already stated.

to me the goodness of this show was hanging out with friends i met on the tour...and directly at this show. i had the best spot ever for a show...at the barrier between Ed and Stone...almost right at the corner of the T...but I wasn't able to make it through in this spot to the PJ set because it was too violent in the crowd. i made it past Coma, but right after Coma left the stage there was a surge in the crowd and i thought i was going to die so i asked the security to pull me out. :(.

anyway. kerensa visited the front row before any bands started playing and said that "they" (i assume the band and their gear) didn't leave Munich until 3 AM and they arrived in Katowice at 2 PM. the PJ crew was setting up through the first two bands and then took a while after LP played to finish setting up.

ed said that he didn't get much sleep and needed help with Nothingman...which i thought he did fine with...but it was apparent through the show that ed's voice was not 100%. i took the short set as a result of ed not feeling well. he seemed genuinely disappointed that the band couldn't play longer...specifically he said that there were a number of reasons why they had to get going...but i think he felt bad about his part in it. there were extra things done to make the show more special, like the improv and allowing the song selection for the 100th show for Jason. all in all, if ed felt anything like i felt, i can understand why he wasn't 100%. we waited in line for the Munich show all day...freakin ROCKED out the show in Munich...then had a bus ride from Munich to Katowice that took about 14.5 hours...no showers...jump in line...wait in the hot sun...get crushed by linkin park fans...it was a hell of a 48 hour period for those of us following the tour...but we got by with a little help from our friends and we survived.

one of the best moments of the show was when ed (a la a symphony conductor) conducted the crowd during one of the songs...i cannot remember which song it was...but he was up there motioning with his arms and the crowd was right along with him...it was a synergy...and we were acting as a surrogate as he couldn't belt it out as he normally would.

massive respect to you! :) I was sharing the same "hellish 18-hour bus ride" and don't know who you are, but you nailed the whole PJ histeria... I don't understand... we all have those giutar picks, shared glances with ed, communicating with mike and his pointing his hand in your direction, so why can't we now JUST ENJOY these shows like normal PJ freaks... first, we were standing near the fence, but when the show started we moved back cause otherwise we would finish outside the fence, which would be really shamefull for me... :) after that, when we had all the place in the world for ouselves we enjoyed the show to the fullest... I was jumping, throwing myself around and screaming my lungs out with every song... just had the perfect time... :)

hmm... i guess you were of the Croatians?

i'm Oscar from Boston. i was on the top floor of the Rocking Bus sitting next to Jason, everyone's favorite Asian-Canadian with a red mohawk!!

anyway, i am glad you enjoyed the show, see ya on the tour!!!

Okay, seated places were not full, that's all we know however people were everywhere on the huge floor!!! Official numbers of the sellout U2 gig in 2005 was 65 thousand...so there must have been AT LEAST 45.000 attended fans in Slaski Stadium!!!

    It's a matter of opinion...

Release as an opener and Indifference as an ending song - personally I can't imagine anything better.

Other songs they didn't play - Sad, Alone, RITFW, Last Kiss, Hide Your Love Away - awesome!

Plus things they played - Improvisation, Daughter with ABITW ending, I Am Mine, Given To Fly, Spin The Black Circle, State Of Love And Trust & Lukin and some hits such as Black, Jeremy.

Of course the best set would look something like this: Release, No Way, Love Reign O'er Me, Crown Of Thorns, Garden, Indifference, Rats, Sad, Alone, I Got Shit, Masters Of War etc. etc. But.. It's impossible I guess ;)

maybe, but i dont think the setlist had to have a lot of rare songs to be special, it depends on how the songs are played and in which order, and i think the songs like nothingman, leatherman or i am mine are pretty rare, and even i said when all the songs have been played...that means, ghost, alone, hide your love....release as an opener....come on this would be a very nice set....

I never said anything was wrong with it, but it is no where near the best set ever. Nothing out of the ordinary there, and that does happen from time to time.

    ps release was not played
