The owner/President/CEO/whatever the fuck he is....

So now I/YOU/WE/Everyone is supposed to boycott this guys Chicken Joints?
No chicken for us..Because this guy doesnt believe in Same Sex Marriage...

    Is this it?
Or is there more to it?
    If there is more...Please explain

That's pretty much it. A few people also did research and found that Chick Fil A donates to causes that don't support same sex marriage (which it has for a while), but I think most people boycotting Chick Fil A aren't aware of this and are just boycotting it based on the president's comments.
    Really?
    Thats about it huh?
I cant/wont/shouldnt eat at this guys Chicken Joints because he doesnt believe in Same Sex Marriage....

Now do I, should I, will I, use this same policy when I walk in to my local grocery store? When I go to get an oil change? When I go to buy a pair of shoes? Should I be questioning all the employees on their political beliefs? Religious beliefs? Their stance on abortion? How they feel about legalizing drugs? Or is it just the people in charge, whose opinions and beliefs I should question?

The ironic thing is the public likes to demonize the congress, especially the republicans, for their failure to compromise, etc. And then they stop buying chicken sandwiches at all chik-fil-a's and some politicians talk abotu not having chik-fil-a in their towns because of what one guy said. Not to mention, unless you are an idiot you should have known this already.

really ... in this day and age - the most power regular folks have is in the power of their spending ... if people really wanted change - they would look towards their spending to make that change ... $$$ is all that matters ...

so, having said that ... if someone recently decided to stop spending at this place because of this guy's beliefs ... that's their choice ... just like it is someone deciding to spend more money there because of it ... people are making those choices every day already ...

What is the USA's stance on Same Sex marriage?
    60/40 For? 50/50? 40/60?

    Anyway...
If we ALL started boycotting businesses, because of their political and or religious beliefs....

We would ALL be walking around naked, with no gas in our cars, and none of us would be eating any chicken!
    Take me piece by piece.....

    haha

i'm not sure what the rate is... at the end of the day tho - i don't see why anyone would have a problem if someone decides to boycott a place ... frig ... i will boycott a place just for bad service ... we all make similar choices every day ...

i think why this particular topic is somewhat touchier is that this guy actively gives money to organizations who's goals include denying gay people the right to get married ... it's one thing to believe marriage is between a man and a woman ... it's another to force that belief onto others ... just because gay people marry doesn't change the nature of someone else marriage ...

it's like if i believed poker in all its forms should be banned and actively contributed to organizations that wanted to ban poker ... how would you feel about that?

i have not bought gas at bp since the deepwater horizon disaster and i think many people have boycotted them as well, as their profits are significantly lower the last few quarters. i have a bp near my home and i specifically make it a point to drive a half mile down the road somewhere else, because fuck bp.... same with chick fil a...

people like palin supporting chick fil a are only driving people like me further away. palin is acting like a teenager by getting a pic of herself at chick fil a and posting it. she is just trying to piss people off. she does not even have a dog in any political race, so why would she do this sort of thing? if they are in bed with the likes of palin, fuck them too...

i think people vote with their wallet, and as polaris x said, our dollar and where it is spent is the only real power we have anymore.

    Honest question...

    In the last 5 years...
How much money have you spent at Chick-Fil-A?

I totally agree with voting with dollars- yet another reason I rarely eat at most fast food places.

Chipotle Grill is an exception. They support local and (quite often) organic farming. Oh- and you probably won't so photo ops of Wonder Woman (I wonder what she'll do next for publicity  ) there.

Didn't chipotle just fire hundreds of workers that were in the country illegally?

In regards to the OP, I don't eat at Chick-fil-a because the food is garbage. I support their right to free speech and I support those that choose to go there or not.

It's another non-issue that is being used to distract from the real issues.

    probably about three hundred bucks.

up until about 1.5 years ago i used to eat it all the time when i would go to the mall or when i was out in the valley. then i started hearing about how they were trying to run their business according to the bible and that turned me off some. i didn't mind if they did, but once they started proclaiming it and being public about it and speaking out against gay marriage i began to have a problem with them. they need to realize that they might be representing the best of what religion has to offer, but by doing so they also represent the racism, bigotry, and divisiveness that religion has caused, so they also represent the worst of what religion has to offer. at that time, i still ate there but i did not go out of my way to get it. i started going to the malls on sunday afternoons due to my schedule and i would have eaten there but they were always closed. now i refuse to eat there. a drug rep tried to bring us chick fil a a few weeks ago and i asked him to bring me lunch from somewhere else. was i a pain in the ass for him? probably so, but if he wanted to bring me lunch, meet with me and potentially get our business he was not going to spend money there on my behalf....

Maybe Sarah Palin will boycott S.F. Giant and Milwaukee Brewer games over this. Good on them though!

There used to be a Thai restaurant out here - Siamese Princess.

    Kickass food, service, ambiance.

My family ate many meals and celebrated a New Year's Eve or two there.

    Good times, good memories.

After several years of our being regular customers, it came to light that the owner was a Nazi sympathizer.

    What did we do?

We realized he had a right to his beliefs, and exercised ours by no longer patronizing his business.

    Simple.

I'm not really sure what they serve counts as chicken
I've never personally eaten there and if I were ever to be tempted by a waffle fry (cause the sandwiches make me gag on sight) I will find it somewhere else.

funny that it was long rumored that the Brewers would trade Prince Fielder for Matt Cain - we could have had the most progressive pitching staff in the league!
