ACLU backs Chick-fil-A

it's not like chick-fil-a's are being closed down it's just that some places that actually care about human rights don't want their shit peddled in their towns. Seems like a pretty fair use of the political process to me. If they want to hate gay people and/or not hire them that's their thing and if some cities don't want their shit then thats their thing. you can't victimize and play the victim chick-fil-hate.0

You bitch and Moan about us on the right being intolerant yet you are the ones causing a shit storm over this. You want to silence people that have opposing views. Did the CEO come out and say that "HE hated gay people?" No he didn't !!! What Next you gonna acuse them of being afflieated with the KKK ? Get the Fuck over it dude. (disclaimer - I tend to relate most situations to some episode of Seinfeld)
Anyway, this reminds me of the one where Poppy proclaimed he was pro-life; some folks left his restaurant indignant with his views, and others stayed.
I have no problem with this stance...but it also gives rise to the question - where does it end? Or begin?
With an individual? With a corporation? What if a corporation you support hires someone whose beliefs collide with your own?
Yeah yeah...thinking out loud. Perhaps a bit too out loud. Good fodder for thought though.0 -

it is interesting to see you folks on the right praising the aclu for once instead of bashing it as being an organization of pussy liberals..."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

Chick-fil-a will go down in history for its bigotry, as will everyone else who takes public stands against gay rights. They will all eventually be remembered by all of society as rotten, simple minded assholes (I men in a more mainstream way than they already are now). Taking stands against alternative lifestyles in this fashion will be as outrageous as someone making black people ride at the back of the bus this day and age. It's just that civil rights take time. They always do.With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0

what a crock, just because they believe in tradional marriage they get slammed with all this ?
a little over kill don't ya think ? elton john and his bf are maybe adopting another child something i am very aginst but it did not stop me from enjoying his music, rob hallford of judas priest comes out of the closset but I didn't stop enjoying his music and I didn't go home and thro out all my priest albums, there was just a gay rights parade in sd I diden't go down town and protest the parade...and btw fuck the aclu them guys are just looking for trouble to stirr up. :fp:

it's not just that they "believe in" "traditional marriage" (whatever traditional means), but that they also wield the power to influence politicians through their forms of political activism. they don't even have to refuse to serve LGBT's, hire them, or say horrible things to them at their store to help enact the kind of hatred they proffer. in other words just because a person who identifies as LGBT can by a fucking chicken sandwich with a pickle and/or serve one up doesn't mean that the company isn't actively working against their human rights.0

so it's gone from stating their views on marriage to a human rights issue..... :fp:
I'm calling bullshit.

BY the way, I'd like to personally congratulate any idiot that couldn't already put 2 and 2 together and realize that the people running Chick-fil-a would be opposed to gay marriage.
Did you think they were closed on Sundays for football? Did you realize there is no football on and they are still closed on sundays?
I find this whole topic rather ridiculous.
Breaking news....catholic church against gay marriage....breaking news GLBT organization in newark, NY is for gay marriage....hippiemom = goodness0 -
