    stupid stuff... obviously. :P

he doesnt seem to listen when we say things. hes not deaf... but you know in a teenage kind of way. he does his doga right in front of us when we ask him to move. he circles us and tries to get back to where he was even before weve got both feet outside the door... he gets underfoot when theres plenty of room not to be.

great thread, too many cat lovers...

my first dog was born in March 1985, a German sheperd, Tommy, on Dec 23rd, 1999 I had to put him to sleep because he couldn't stand up anymore...

my second dog, Juanita, was born on August 3rd, 1993, a German sheperd as well, she got a seizure on March 7th, 1997, died on that day...

my last dog, Alen, was born on Nov 7th, 1997, she started to have epilepsy seizures on Nov 2010, i had to put her to sleep because of that on May 7th, 2011...

Update on Gavin; he's okay! :D:D:D:D:D
Was a tumour but benign and they got it all.
Of course when I tried to celebrate with him he made it perfectly clear he knew he was fine except that I'd allowed the vet to stab him in the back.
Don't think I realised quite how scared I was til the vets number popped up on my phone.
Gavvy and I thank everyone for their good thoughts, which obviously did the job
I don't mean to offend anyone, a lot of what I say should be taken with a grain of salt... that said for most of you I'm a stranger on a computer on the other side of the world, don't give me that sort of power!

Most dogs aren't stupid, we don't always meet their canine needs and then their behavior becomes bad. Does he get to do anything except hang out in the yard? He could be bored and looking for attention. Dogs, especially young ones need much more then just a yard to hang out in. They need mental and physical activities to truly be happy. I take Monty on at least one hike each day, he gets to run off leash the entire time. Most days now that we have a lot of daylight he gets to go 2X, one hike in the morning and then play time with his doggie buddies every evening. He goes for rides in the car, and we play Frisbee. Next week he is going to work with me. Dogs that have enough mental and physical stimulation listen to their owners very well. They are also tired once they get what they need....and sleep most of their days away.

just wanted to say about cj ... it takes time ... I don't know how long you've had the dog.

The longer you interact as a family the better it will get. Patience.

Our dogs seem to understand every single word. I am with them around the clock though,
    we are a pack.

No, no more pets for a long while, I cannot take them care of them, not only because of the money, I have plenty of patience but I don't have the time they need, I don't wanna neglect them, if I was a millonaire and have the time, I could pick up lots of street dongs to live with me, but that's not the case... and still heart broken...

I was taking pictures of flowers in my back yard this afternoon. Penny did not like me focusing my attention on something besides her and came over to talk to me about it:

I had to stop for a while and make a big fuss over her:
