    Wasa, I am so very sorry to hear about Downey. Much too young. As Rob said, while the pain is very hard now, it will gradually lessen. She will always hold a special place in your heart.

    I've had a dog in my life consistently since I was 5 years old. Usually I've had 2 or more at a time. So at the grand old age of 61, I've been through the loss of several doggies. The pain of losing them is ALWAYS terrible. I try to remind myself that the degree of the pain speaks to how deeply I loved them.

    I read this a few years ago and it brings comfort to me:
    It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them, and every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are.

    ^^^^^ very cute! Piper used to go under the bed....and chew on things. Thankfully, she seems to have outgrown that.

    Ha ha, probably not as old as you might think. We moved there in 1990 and I'm thinking I found it at some department store a short time after that. It's not the greatest scale but with not one but TWO PINK tiled bathrooms I like having all those retro accessories. Step into my house and it's like back to the 50s! :lol::lol:

    Scout stuck his head through my purse strap and then started dragging it around the kitchen. Maybe he wants to go Christmas shopping?
