    if it were not for the media we would never have heard of trayvon martin. at least this way there is a CHANCE for justice for trayvon... arrest zimmerman and make the state of florida present the evidence that it has in a court of law.

    i get what you're saying here and can see the push to reserve judgement. also just as the media is quick to convict people they are also quick to forget that the innocent can still be dickbags. for example, what people forget in the Duke lax case is that those kids were still dropping the N-bomb and being verbally disrespectful, with particular regard to race, to the strippers. just because they were innocent of rape doesn't make those kids innocent of being racist d-bags.

    Considering this happened in the same state that let Casey Anthony walk, I wouldn't be holding my breath on Zimmerman getting any punishment.

    It's weird how the letter of the law has over-ruled common sense and rational judgement.

    Why would you assume such a thing...just because you have seen this before??? IF the evidence proves Zimmerman not guilty in the court of law then level heads will prevail. Some may protest or disagree with the verdict which is their right but to say there will be killings and riots is an idiotic assumption.

    Are you saying this because this is what mostly black people do when they don't get justice? well.

    just calling like I see it...or have seen it before, I watched the news all weekend and the up rising has already started,there are people wearing hoodies and buying skittles and iced tea in protest, I hope it does not happen I hope civilized people can over come their anger and not hurt people and business if they do protest.

    I haven't been following this thread much, but I agree with your facts. Is it not a fact that Zimmerman also shot and killed Martin? Regardless of the self-defense argument and Stand Your Ground law, he should be arrested. That police dept should be investigated by the FBI. It's standard procedure in most states to get arrested first, then released, not the other way around. Florida law is really screwed up...

    yeah ... the law is fucked ... but personally, i think this points to a much larger issue which is discrimination or bias by the police force ... this potentially isolated incidence of a rogue wanna-be cop could have been quelled earlier if the Sanford Police decided to do their job ... not only did they not arrest Zimmerman, they didn't do a lot of the forensics one would expect on the scene ... gun powder, drug/alcohol testing of zimmerman (yet they tested trayvon), etc ... either they are completely amateurish or they chose not to ... and when you hear about other instances of bias in the Sanford Police - you have to question the motives ...

    I'm sure you are calling it as you see fit but you can not assume just because you have seen it before it will happen this time around. I like Skittles and i have a hoodie however I'll only buy some Skittles at the moment ....it's too hot to wear a hoodie down here.
    Is there an issue if people want to buy candy and wear a piece of garment thus somehow becomes an uprising? Please show me where you see people down here burning and looting over this case as we see it,....if so I'll shut up. I see those portesting wanting those in authority to get to the bottom of what happened whether it proves Zimmerman innocent or guilty.

    I think you're jumping the gun here..as I said "if he is proven NOT GUILTY" and as far as the skittles hoodies and iced tea I saw that on the news.

    The more I read about this case, the more disturbing it is. I mean, who eats skittles while drinking Iced tea? That sounds disgusting.


    Really though, this whole situation is messed up and the media isn't doing anyone any favors. It is setup for rioting if the guy is determined to be not guilty.

    One thing is for sure, that law needs to go if it in anyway ties the hands of law enforcement the way it seems to.
