Are you guys talking about Cascia's? GREAT tomato pie.

Yeah, that's the thing, not a big fan of pizza in general, but definitely a fan of tomato pie. Cascia's is damn good, Corropolese in Conshy, and Pica's in UD.

My wife always tries to talk me into Pica's. I think that place blows.

Rustica is the best in the Philly area. And I do agree that pizza in NYC destroys what we have down here.

    Hey, I remember you.

Like I said, pizza of any kind is highly overrated. Chicago-style isn't pizza, it's a meal, so I don't include that kind when talking about conventional pizza. And tomato pie is good stuff, especially in the morning. Pica's pie is good shit, but people talk it up too much. I just think it's a decent pie.

I repeat, tomato pie blows. It makes no sense. Put some real cheese on it.

I call it lazy pie. Too lazy to put cheese on it and stick it in the oven.

Tomato pie is fucking awesome. I don't know what your problem is Cliffy. You disappoint me.

Pica's is good - we get it all the time. It's not great though.

Great pizza in the city at: Stella Pizza, Osteria, Cacia's (also in Delco).

You can buy dough at Trader Joe's and make great pizza in your own oven.

Pizza in Chicago is incredible and blows away what I've had in NYC. Brewpub called Piece has amazing beer and delicious pizza. I toted leftover pizza on the el back to our hotel like it was a golden ticket.

Tomato pie blows. If I am going to have anything that resembles pizza, put some fucking cheese on it. My girlfriends family has it all the time. I don't touch it.

That's the thing. Stella, Taconellis, Santuccis all pretty good but not really the pizza we are talking about in my mind. Good old fashioned pizza is tough to get around here.

I make my own pizza quite a bit.

Not really sure what you're looking for. We talked about places to go out to eat, places to pick up. (you should try Cacia's pizza (not tomato pie), seriously - you're already in South Philly) Yeah, Philly pizza isn't as good as NY, but it's still pretty good and definitely getting better. And besides pizza our food scene is kick-ass, as you noted.

I think the lady and her family get tomato pie from Cacia's. I don't believe I have ever had their pizza. I was just saying good pizza that is easy to get (without going out to eat) is tough to get. When ordering for home, I only ever get Rustica. I do dig the food here in general though.

When Cole signs his contract we'll get back into talking about you-know-who.

In the meantime, maybe we'll move onto food at the ballpark.

And that's what I'm sayin' - good ol' fashioned orthodox pissa blows. There's absolutely nothing about it that stands out when I could rather have a roast pork, cheese steak, stromboli, etc.

The only place where I kinda like good ol' fashioned pizza is Mack's on the boardwalk in Wildwood, and that's mostly sentimental reasons.

That Rustica place looks like a hipster-doofus place that's only popular because it's in Northern Liberties - especially looks overpriced no matter how good the pizza could be.

But yeah, food at the ballpark - or how bout outside of it? Can't wait for this Victory Beer Hall place to open. It better fulfill at least 50% of my expectations. 1) large hall with benches 2) every kind of Victory beer that's at the brewery better be there and 3) I better be able to fill my growlers up there for the same price as the brewery.

Yeah, it's kind of overrated. The fancy stuff from Stella & Osteria is life changing. 8-)

Yeeeah, I would temper those expectations. 1. Yes 2. Very doubtful 3. ZERO chance

I'll be checking it out before the 2nd Springsteen show.

Alright, alright - if they have Summer Love on tap then the previous three wishes do not matter.

Everything in Northern Libs is fairly hipster now, aside from Liberties. Rustica wasn't originally and is good, definitely very overpriced though.

Mack's is good. See that's the type of pizza I am talking about. A good old slice. Stella and all are good but there's just something I dig about a slice like that.

That's all I want, Cliff. I'm getting a keg of this for my place this time 'round.

Speaking of which, I still haven't gotten to Frankford Hall. Is it worth the trip?
