I didn't see anything from Murphy but I could have easily missed it. I just think they could have gotten someone that has more experience in the college level and everything else I said. I don't think they had a big pool of candidates but money talks and I think they could have gone with more experience. I am not completely opposed to this, I know next to nothing about the guy and I will obviously support him, I just find it strange.

11:30 press conference should be interesting. Definitely a really difficult situation.

i think lavar, short, and the others should shut up though. them saying they're "done" with psu is stupid and certainly isn't helping the situation...or recruiting for that matter.

speaking of recruiting...did you see that that top safety recruit commit to alabama over lsu on live tv the other night? his mom was sitting right next to him and basically ripped her son for not choosing lsu. what a fucking bitch.

Missed this the other day, Jeags. Was too wrapped up in the press conference I guess. I hear you, I wish they would have toned to down a bit, definitely did not help the situation at all. Sounds like people are at least beginning to give him a chance though, which is good news. In addition to Johnson, he's keeping Vanderlinden, which is great news and the strength coach. There are plenty of rumors out there today that Ralph Friedgen will be the offensive coordinator, I'll believe it when I see it but that would be a great addition. And Ted Roof, who I am not really familiar with as the d coordinator.

    I didn't see that. That's hilarious.

not sure if you saw this but:

I cannot believe I lost sleep to stay up and watch that shitfest. If LSU was awarded points for throwing a pass over ten yards (and that's just throwing, not completing), how many points would they have scored? Two? Three? How did they go undefeated??? :?

Punting with four minutes left when down 21??? Why not just forfeit? Why didn't the QB get yanked in the fourth quarter? Les Miles, for shame upon you.

I can't see LSU even getting to the title game if there is an eight team playoff based on what I've seen in the two games I've watched them play this year. Of course, the BCS will claim that this is still the best way to decide who is "national champion".

Although the game was a dud, it was interesting to observe Brent Musburger's semi-homoerotic admiration of The Honey Badger.

    The Honey Badger don't care!

8 quarters of play between these teams and 1 touchdown. Glad I didn't waste time last night watching this borefest.

I would trade our entire defense straight up for either LSU's or Alabama's.

Ted Roof was the Auburn d coordinator this past season....and they gave up bucket loads of points to nearly everybody on their schedule...including Utah State at Auburn....I believe that they also set the record for largest loss margin for a single game by a defending National Champion. Word is that the Auburn fans are very sad to see him go.

ESPN's BCS title game Monday drew a 13.8 overnight rating -- the lowest rating in the BCS system's 14-year history.

That 13.8 translates to 13.8% of households in the 56 urban markets measured for overnights. The previous record low was a 14.3 for Miami-Nebraska at the 2002 Rose Bowl. Last night's game was down 14% from last year's Auburn-Oregon title game on ESPN and down 24% from Alabama-Texas on Fox in 2010.

University of Alabama players celebrate BCS title win.CAPTIONBy CHERYL GERBER, AP Iimages for AllstateThe new low isn't surprising. Alabama's 21-0 win was less-than-suspenseful, both schools are from relatively sparsely-populated states and from the same conference -- and there wasn't much controversy surrounding the game. And the schools had already played earlier this season in an overtime game where neither team scored a touchdown. CBS coverage of that game drew an 11.9 overnight

Coming into the title game, ESPN's BCS ratings were already down 10%.
