Miss the New Year's days of growing up with all the bowl games on New Years day, Rose, Cotton, and Fiesta during the late afternoon, then the Sugar and Orange at night. Those were the days. I hate how they drag it out forever. I am looking forward to the playoff, which was much needed though. It won't go this way but I'd like either the 2 semi-final games or the champ game played on new years day.

Ugh....upset to see the Badgers lose the Rose Bowl again. That first TD they had early on that got called back for holding, and then them not converting on 4th from the 1 yard line ended up coming back to bite them in the ass. That interception at the end really sucked as well. Oh well, they played very well against a Stanford team no one thought they could beat. Wish Montee Ball could have finished his career at WI with a Rose Bowl win though.

Yeah, tough loss. Wasn't too happy with that 4th and goal from the one call. Sneak it or run it with ball but at least have someone under center. Would have liked to have seen Stave under center more, although I'm not sure how healthy he actually was. Time to see what the Gary Anderson era will bring.

The first down measurment before the Clowney sack was inexcusable. I've never in seen a ref so blatantly on the take. I wonder how much money he got?

If you can fit your finger between the ball and the first down marker it is not a first down.

I also am of the beleif that Clowney has a shellfish allergy and decided he wanted a free blooming onion today :D

It was a 1 point safety. I guess it's only 1 point since the initial kick is only for 1 point?

glad he is staying at penn state but professionally not a good move in my opinion. once the scholarship limitations kick in winning is going to be very difficult. his profile for an NFL job will never be this good again...or if not never then not for about 10 years.

and how come no one mentions that Bowl games are nothing more than exhibitions. other than ND-Bama they mean absolutely nothing other than a reason to bet. they drive me crazy.

They have the number 1 QB recruit in the country coming in and a stud tight end who is the 66th overall recruit. They have a chance to be decent if those two stay committed, which from their tweets in the last 12 hours, seems like they are. Plus it seems like a lot of the things O'Brien asked to change are recruiting tools, so we'll see if that helps. The fact that he kept those two after everything that has gone on is pretty amazing.

I agree that his stock will never be this high, but he made a committment to those kids and he talked all about loyalty to them. If he left, it would have been a real fucking scumbag move. Also, who knows how much he was going to get paid by an NFL team after his buyout ($9 or $18 million, assuming $9 since no NFL team would interview him if it were $18). He is probably getting paid more at Penn State.

O'Brien pretty much says the same thing. All he said when it came down to the sanctions is I want to play and I want to play on TV. TV exposure is a lot more important than bowl games.
