Big East should just fold as a football conference. Louisville is now leaving to be the 14th member in the ACC.

eventually one of the confrences will have to fold.

confrence usa is really scraping the bottom of the barrel with their additions.

i'm also a little suprised that hte MAC has been pretty much left untouched.

I don't have any love for ND as my team plays them annually (and usually loses in a painful way).

But I have to give props to a school that actually takes education seriously and also can produce a top ranked team.

but...i thought all these teams were profitable and the NCAA was just fine financially? This here is the end of a bubble caused by speculative finance and the reduction of public funding to educational facilities. Go forth and get private grant funding professors b/c we don't want our tax dollars to pay for your salaries...instead let's build stadiums for football and basketball teams in hopes that they will be "revenue producers". Oh shit wait that only works for like a small percentage of schools? Well that'll be us one day. Yeah, yeah, let's just add a playoff for football, create a bunch of super conferences where kids have to travel to fuckknowswhere for football and basketball and all these other sports, pretend like anyone goes to 1st and 2nd round Men's NCAA tourny games, pretend like anyone goes to any bowl games besides the big ones, and when the University system collapses let's blame Title IX and women. Yeah bitches suck man, and everyone will believe it because football and basketball are "revenue producers".

Seriously UMD cuts like 7 sports but suddenly finds $50 million to buy out of the ACC? How the fuck does that work? At Towson we are threatening to cut baseball and Men's soccer over $1.6 million. The AD is blaming Title IX but I have the financial records ... he magically increased spending on coaches salaries in Football and Men's BBall by, you guessed it, 1.6 million dollars. When the hell are we gonna kick these sport entities out of our schools and make them survive on their own? Then we'll find out right quick which schools football and bball teams are real "revenue producers"...especially when they'd actually have to pay their players this time.
  • I'm guessing either a a major separation from the NCAA will happen soon, or MAJOR MAJOR conference changes, where there are just a group of 16 team conferences, and the conference championship game is the first rd of a multi round play off.

    wtf?

The rumor has been to get 4 teams. MD and Rutgers joined, as soon as they were in, GT and North Carolina. I thought BS, but we see GT is being looked at, so who knows.

Apparently the ACC is having to go to court to get the $50 million exit fee from Maryland.....so as of right now, Maryland is not planning on paying said exit fee.

they'd still go if they had to pay the 50 mill methinks, because they believe it's going to bring a revenue in the end. this whole things is fucking stupid. could be the end of all this shit though so that might be good.

I hope that beating Arkansas in a meaningless Sugar Bowl was worth having a 12-0 team staying home for the Holidays.

WHERE THE FUCK HAS THIS BEEN ALL YEAR? On Wisconsin although it's bitter sweet cause it really wasn't truly earned. Thanks OSU for cheating. Penn St, well they can just bulldoze anything football related at that school to the ground!

Ha! Really depends what team shows up. The team that showed up tonight could play with anyone, but that team only showed up for this game. Wonder what would have happened if we didn't waste games with O'Brien under center. Excited for the Rose Bowl, but I refuse to buy any Rose Bowl gear this year.

BCS bound!!! Nice to see Oklahoma get shut out of the BCS, would be nice if Oregon would too. Shocking that ESPN is once again slamming the small schools. Money, money, money, money. Sad how it runs everything. That's the main reason ESPN is pissed, cause the game won't be a big tv draw.
