Yeah I'd like to know more about the wristbands too, and more important, if any personal data has been copied/stolen?

    And no apology? Poor show.

You know what's funny? The only explanation I can fathom for no apology is that they wanted to cover their asses legally (You know how your little card insurance says 'don't apologize' first?). But with this despicable sabotage excuse they open themselves to even more issues.

    You're exactly right.. it's public relations 101. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-apology_apology

--and there's nothing wrong with that! they tried to correct the alpine situation by handing over ticketing to someone else. There's obviously something funky happening behind the scenes that is out of 10C's control.
  • I know ticketmaster is the devil around here, but they run the public sales anyway, so why not outsource the presale to TM? With a unique fanclub password emailed like an hour before the on sale time to prevent rampant selling of the password? Other bands run fan club presales on TM

TM is clearly big enough to hand them and if the only reason they arent using them is because of prior history it seems silly

That may not be the only reason, for instance I wouldn't trust that the best tickets would end up in the fans hands because tm are dodge and scalpers get in there first

Seems they concluded sabotage in absence of other conclusions.
This is very different from "finding evidence" a sabotage while investigating the failure.
Also, who sabataged the boston 2010 show presale?
    Same thing happened..
    System crashed..

this is a VERY VALID POINT.

Yeah this should be addressed immediately

this is why I went to an outside VIP source for PJ 20 tickets......but alas those were taken away too......it must be sweet to not have to be accountable in a job environment.
  • Sabotage? Lets look at the cold hard facts:

They haven't managed to use one of the simplest speedup tricks compression:

    https://skitch.com/wulffeld/gtqim/crowdsurge

They have never heard of common SEO practices i.e. nice URLs:

    https://skitch.com/wulffeld/gtqi9/google-chrome

Their HTML is sprinkled with <table> tags for non-table data.

They're using onmouseout etc. for handling JavaScript events like we did in 1997. (You should use UJS: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry ... avior.html)

These are glaring frontend mistakes but combined with the several different errors I experienced at the presale tells me it's amateur hour all the way down through backend and to operations - if they even have operations and it's not just their random PHP developer being responsible for that as well.

    So no continued pre-sale?

Does this mean that the 10c line will be really short for those of us lucky ones that got through? ;)

Bet people will still need to queue up for wristbands so don't get excited yet.
  • WOW sabotage?? The reality is for whatever reason, 10C refuses to go into their bank account and fund/hire a competent server, or sales rep.... I'll remain a fan but the truth is as a band and us as fans, we're not even a blip on the radar compared to other artists who pull much larger numbers, do bigger venues and they've not had these issues, NOT ONCE NOT EVER. Don't really need to pay a membership to get jerked around for every show... and be able to get better seats from Tickemaster.

This just deserves to be pumped every page or so.

I actually think that when any kind of hacking is involved, they HAVE to get the authorities involved, and HAVE to keep us posted (I guess they'll have to learn how...). So if any foul play was involved  I expect an immediate response and... gasp! COMMUNIFUCKINGCATION
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.
