Connection speed's nothing to do with it, Dimi.
I work in IT in a university, we have a 10GB connection to the College backbone which has two 10GB connections directly into the London Metropolitan Area Network!
I had tickets in my basket at about 30 seconds past 5pm yesterday, clicked on 'buy', it said 'processing' for about 30 seconds and then came back with 'your basket is empty, you may not have completed the transaction in time so we have removed them'. and then... several hours of annoyance...
Oh yeah? Well, I've had about enough of morons and halfwits, dolts, dunces, dullards and dumbbells - and you chowderhead yokel, you blithering hayseed, you - you've had enough of me?
If they're insistent on not using Ticketmaster (which is hypocritical at this point anyway), why not use Seetickets? It's not perfect, but surely they'd have been able to deal with a few thousand hits at once. Ridiculous.

I would have liked more information about how long the delay was going to be and when the sales would be restarted.
All it would have taken is a post from the moderators to explain it was unlikely to be a) in 5 minutes or b) 9 hours... that way I wouldnt have stayed up till 1am last night fuming like everyone else.
I can take not getting a ticket, what i cannot abhor is incompetence for a service which people buy into... whether that be a hairdresser, 10club, utility company, etc... you pay money so its only right you expect service.

Probably get locked but really this is all we want right now. 10C, when are tickets going on back on sale?
GENERAL SALE STARTS IN 17-18 HOURS!!! (and i really need some sleep within that period)

I'd been wondering if it was my connection speed too, but that's exactly what happened to me.
Had them in the bag in under a minute, but then I must've tried to check out at least a dozen times in that first 15 mins. And then they were gone. Then the endless rounds of the queue screen, the blank screen, the think white line screen, the meditation guru screen...
Whatever they do, I just hope they don't put us through that again.

Actually, no, PJ is not coming to me or a lot of other people. We're taking time off work, scheduling vacation days, rearranging our schedules, booking and paying thousands of dollars for flights, hotels, tickets, etc. You'd think the least they could do is tell us something now that we're more than 24 hours into this complete fail. When I look at I'll I'm trying to do to go see PJ and how little their organizations cares about their fans, I'm beginning to seriously question the wisdom of all of this.

Hopefully we will get information soon. The public sale for the Stockholm concert starts tomorrow morning. A pre-sale that starts after the public sale wouldn't be ok.
Does anyone know how many Ten Club tickets there is for each show? I'd really hate to miss the Stockholm show. As many people are trying to buy tickets to several concerts and US fans coming to Europe, I believe some members will end up without a ticket to their nearest town.
Therefore I'd like to see a system where members who live near the venue will have the first options to buy tickets to that venue. Example: TenClub members from Sweden, Finland, Estonia etc. will get tickets for the Stockholm concerts before German, UK and US members.
2. Limit it to 1 show per fanclub member for the first 12/24 hours. After that open up for everyone for the rest of the tickets.
3. Have priority for regions of the show. People from finland and sweden for example maybe should have more of a chance or tix for the Stockholm show than lets say... people from canada, USa, spain etc etc.
A lot of this frustration could have easily been calmed down with some more information.
The only message posted from the official( It's official or am I wrong?) facebook-account is a non-related message about whenyou first heard Ten.

First of all I'd like to say that it's not the 10C's fault what happened yesterday.. it's completely Crowdsurge fault.. I mean.. is this the first time this company sells tickets online to thousands of people that try to get tickets?.. i don't think so.. they probably have "promised"10C that they could easily handle this... well we know they couldn't..
What 10c didn't handle well was giving information to all the desperate fans after the disaster happened.. so yes.. that's probably something they should learn from...
Let us all not forget that 10C is probably one of the best fanclubs there is despite what happened yesterday.. of course people get dissapointed and angry when something like yesterday happens... but i think overall the Holiday singles the Deep newsletters (or must i say Books ) the information about the band / side projects and all... there are few fanclubs i think that provide us with all that,.. and sorry for the word but F*ck those who moan about their 40 dollars they pay.. if money is that important to you to moan about when you all get this on top of the chance ( no guarantee)to get fanclub tickets, then probably you shouldn't be in a Pearl Jam fanclub first of all..but ok that's just my opinion...
Fact is that the way tickets were distributed was a complete chaos..
My suggestion would be for future fanclub tickets to have some sort of geographical solution.
For instance in case of a European Tour when Pearl jam plays Holland (Amsterdam in this case) the Dutch 10C members should be able purchase 10C tickets first for like 2 hours or 1 day or whatever..
Aftyer this.. the rest of Europe should be able to purchase tickets for a day.. if after this there are still 10C tickets left then fans worldwide should be able to buy the rest.
This is as fair as it gets.. because fans in the country they perform should have best chances to see them .. also fans from surrounding countries should have a better chance to see them above members from the other side of the world.. this way you also regulate the amount of people logging into a ticket purchase site like crowdsurge so they hopefully have less problems with crashing servers and so...
I don't think that randomly picking fans to go to different concerts would be a good plan like someone suggested but again that's my opinion..
Lets hope for this european tour all will get their tickets in the end..

10C - fucking up presales since 2003.
"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"
Yeah, communication has always been an issue. Other fan clubs constantly communicate with their fans. I don't think it would kill anyone to let everyone know what is happening on a more frequent basis.
On the ticket issues, I can only think a couple of things and one of them is demand. Since 2003 this band for whatever reason has decided they aren't going to tour like they have in the past. So you get the same number of fans trying for far less shows. Additionally, the number of traveling fans has grown over the years. More traveling fans + less shows = less tickets for everyone. I really think this is a huge part of the problem. When they only play 10 or 15 shows a tour everyone thinks yet have to go to all of them. Or they have to get on planes and go for fear of never seeing them again. I know. I've done that myself.
Throw PJ20 out because that was an anomaly. It was a 20th anniversary celebration and I think they would have had the ticket fiasco even if they were running a super computer from the future. But to have these same issues for regular shows in places like Boston, NY, Philly, etc. etc. is because of high demand and low supply. Less dates, more fans, less tickets to go around.
It isn't just the system or the server or whatever. This same system was in place in 2008 when you could get tickets to some shows days after they went on sale. And in 2010 when you could get tickets to KC or STL with no problems at all. Those were low demand locations.
So to me at least part of the solution is to play some more shows. Spread the love a little. Maybe the entire country wouldn't all try to buy MSG tickets at the same time if there were more choices.
Another part is: stagger the sale times better. This isn't a radical concept because you've done it before. In 2006 the sale times were staggered to two or three shows every couple of hours for a few days.
You know you will have huge demand so you are going to have to find some way to manage that. But communication has to improve. And that doesn't include griping about us or laughing at us on a radio show.
In my desperation I wrote crowdsurge yesterday, and 5 hours ago I got this back:
"We expect news will be forthcoming late afternoon GMT today, Wednesday 14th of December."
Hmmm, that's about... NOW. I am so dissapointed with the lack of communication. A small update once in a while would at least show us that someone was working on it, and that we were not left in the dark.
At the moment the posts are almost coming in faster than you can read them. Communication is BADLY needed.
Had tickets in my cart one minute after the presale started. And since then 22 h and 39 mins of frustration. Still ticking...
I actually had tix in my cart and got through the checkout process more than once but my Credit Card company was denying the charge because they said that Crowdsurge was "a highly suspicious vendor" and their stepped up, holiday season anti-fraud policy is to deny any charge over $500 from an international source. (Total BS)
The site crashed as I entered my CC info so I wasn't certain I got them so I kept trying. Then the Crowdsurge website said I had already purchased and that tix were limited to one per cust so I thought I was good. By the time I realized the problem was on my end (VISA) the problems started to mount on their end and I was stuck in the never refreshing Que with tix in my cart unable to check out.
So if your trying for tix and are from the US, u might want to call ur CC company to clear a purchase from Crowdsurge beforehand so you dont end up fukd like me.
I got no work done yesterday due to this, and am just as unfocused today waiting for an update.....
Crowdsurge email 10club to say they have had major meltdown, 10club post this info on here... that kinda thing? that would take minutes... not almost 24hours!
...and to be fair to Crowdsurge, they have been responding to the odd individual email, answering the phone etc - so they are prepared to communicate. They are in the business of taking on the outsourcing of ticket sales and they'd be out of it if they didn't do some talking. I expect they are waiting on 10c before they can communicate further.
I bought the analog memebership this autumn cux I believed PJ would play Europe in 2012. I paid for that ugly tshirt for this chance. Man... I'm not saying I should have gotten tickets, but you should have been given a smooth chance.

3. Have priority for regions of the show. People from finland and sweden for example maybe should have more of a chance or tix for the Stockholm show than lets say... people from canada, USa, spain etc etc.
But 1 & 2 I think would be good.
Sounds good for all 3 suggestions.
+1
And since we're supposed to use this thread only, I'll vent once more. Had Stockholm tickets in cart about 2 mins past the start time (7 o'clock over here), but then everything went horribly wrong, like for so many others. I had prearranged my whole day so I could spend some time (I was prepared for about an hour, I thought surely I'll either succeed in that time or the tickets will be sold out by then) at the computer, completely focused on getting the tickets, like so many others. But in the end my kids had to pretty much put themselves to bed, and everything else was on hold because of this mess. I stayed up until two a.m. waiting for news and got up at six for work. And now this day has been a waste as well, because I haven't wanted to get away from the computer for long. I really don't feel like staying up another night.
This would be my first live gig, after being a devoted fan for 20 years, and I'd only want the Stockholm pair. I can't afford to travel further and can't leave the family for longer than the one gig will take. I feel leaving us completely in the dark about what's going on is extremely disrespectful. What is "late afternoon" anyway?
I really wish the Ten Club would follow the ticket distribution model followed by the Dave Matthews Band. Give fan club members a week to request tickets. Randomly select among those who requested to get the tickets.
Servers don't crash. People don't need to access a web site at a specific time. No need to spend an hour of more refreshing screens. No shopping cart problems. No stress.
At this point, a ticket request period needs to happen. Clearly the SURGE of tc members cannot be contained. Phish has a pretty good system, but seniority would need to be worked into the plan somehow.

I got no work done yesterday due to this, and am just as unfocused today waiting for an update.....
...and to be fair to Crowdsurge, they have been responding to the odd individual email, answering the phone etc - so they are prepared to communicate. They are in the business of taking on the outsourcing of ticket sales and they'd be out of it if they didn't do some talking. I expect they are waiting on 10c before they can communicate further.

SMELL YER MA!
Hey! That's uncalled for.
The shirt was cool!
Exactly what he said!
