Okay, you're Kermit Washington and you're getting involved in a mid-court scuffle. Rudy Tomjanovich comes running up behind you to simply break it up... What do you do?

    A) Turn around and shatter his face with a thunderous punch?

or B) Turn around and shatter his face with a thunderous punch?

    the-punch.jpg

"The blow shattered Tomjanovich's jaw and face and inflicted life-threatening head injuries, leaving him sidelined for five months. He eventually made a full recovery, but his playing career slowly came to a halt and he was forced to retire in his mid 30s. "

"The doctor who worked on Tomjanovich said "I have seen many people with far less serious injuries not make it" and likened the surgery to Scotch taping together a badly shattered eggshell."

That my friends is one hell of a punch.

Reading the thread, surprised no one mentioned Kobe's nickname (though I wouldn't say it's one of the best), Black Mamba.

Also, does anyone think Jason Kidd will break Stockton's assist record?

Just because I love John Stockton, I'm going to say no (hopefully  )

He's got 4,228 assists to make... how many seasons do we think he has left?

Throughout his career so far, he averages 9.1 a game...

I'm horrible at math, so I'll let 81 use his Excel expertise to figure out the odds of him breaking the record in the remainder of his career based upon his average.

He's 38 now. Who knows how long he'll be playing.

That's why I say tops. That's me beign very generous. Realistically, I bet he retires after next season. But I guess it all depends on when he gets to play again.

Jason Kidd used to be one of my favorite players but when I went to see him play the sixers he injured his thumb in the first quarter :( but I can't say enough about that guy, he is so smart on the court and with the basketball

 :D I was going nuts after that shot. I know I'm biased for saying this, but that was the best NBA Finals I've ever seen.

The best finals I ever remember watching was the same 2 teams a few years back. Alonzo Mourning is my all time favorite player and I figured that was his last shot to get a ring and when they went down 2-0 I was pretty depressed but then they came back and won, pure awesomeness
