The girlfriend and I made wagers on each game yesterday. I went 4/5 on the games... Golden State let me down.

NY barely got the win I thought they'd run away with.

    Miami did as I expected

Chicago was my hero for the day. Fuck the Lakers.

OKC did as I expected. Orlando is through... I predict Dwight will be out of a Magic jersey before the end of the season.

Golden State... looks like they should stick to sending penis pictures via text.

  • Watched the fourth quarter of the Kings-Lakers game on NBA TV tonight and for sure I thought the Kings were going to blow it. They were up 85-70 and then a few minutes later they were up 87-85, but they managed to get it done.

I was really impressed by Marcus Thornton, Isiaah Thomas the kid from Washington made some nice plays as did Chuck Hayes, who is a prototypical glue guy 10 points, eight rebounds. But I was very impressed with DeMarcus Cousins. Last year, it seemed from reading around the guy had an attitude and was headed towards knucklehead status, but down the stretch he played like a man possessed, fighting for loose balls, fending off Gasol.

I briefly popped on the Miami / Dallas game on Xmas while it was nearing the end of the 2nd quarter ... Lebron took six (possibly seven) steps w/out dribbling, barreled into a defender, and drew a foul. There is not a way possible for that to happen in college or high school BB ... which means the league is instructing the refs to look the other way for the sake of entertainment.

The threshold between NBA and WWE is drawing closer and closer each day.

But I did enjoy the commercial where Jeff Van Gundy wishes for a full head of hair.

In a league that has seen the product go so far down hill and has so many horrible teams, you gotta admit, it's fun to watch the heat.

I was mumbling the same thing last night. :P

Seriously though, that was brutal. We got beat up. We couldn't make a basket to save our fucking lives. 32% FG is not the way you want to finish a game.

... Waiting for Kanter to get broken in and realize he has to not take shit down in the post.

... still waiting for Al to toughen up on D, and jump for a rebound!!!

... still waiting for Devin Harris to step-up as a leader and take control of his squad on the court. Play the role of a PG Devin...

... and still waiting for C.J. to become consistent.

    waiting & waiting...

I might be asking a lot, but c'mon guys... you get paid a lot of money to not lose by 25 points.

    Fuck the Lakers. :(

Also, I don't know how much I can take of the commentators referring to Artest as World Peace. I know it is a thing of the past, but it's hard to call a guy who punched the shit out of a fan "World Peace."

Well times are tough for Kobe with the divorce and all.

My brother and I were talking "how many years does Kobe have left?" and we both concluded that he probably will hang on longer than he should simply because he'll probably need the money.

Definitely doesn't need the money - even with the divorce. Remember the rock he put on his wife's finger the minute after he raped that chick? Even if that was a bribe for her not to leave him, the fact that she didn't leave him after that is grounds enough that nothing he did from that point on could be grounds for taking more than half.

Now, a dude like Iverson? He NEEDS the money.

I know I've brought it up many times - still sticking to that the dude will be dead or in jail by the time he's 50. Sucks.
