Calling animal control to retrieve a dead coyote in the woods is not reasonable.
I believe Perry called it mulch.
You want a body for proof huh?

    Reread what I posted.
He wasn't in the woods. He jogs in his neighborhood. A rather pricey gated community in Austin. Yes, you are expected to call animal control to pick up dead animals. They don't turn into "mulch" in a park or residential area. I don't recall him using that expression about it anyway. He said he "sent it where coyotes go."

I don't need a body or lack of one for proof. The whole story just reeks of bullshit.

Back to Perry and Texas and his record there.

When general revenue spending is examined by itself, you get a better idea of Perry's fiscal consevative record. General revenue spending (revenue from taxes and fees) has grown since Perry took office in 2000. It has however fallen over the last decade an average of .6% every two years once those numbers are adjusted for inflation and population growth (booming). Much of the rest of the budget is tied to federal law and the Texas Constitution. Federal funding has made up about 1/3 of the budget. Here he has less "control". He could just deny those funds i suppose as federal spending is out of hand. But there is still a balancing act because his taxpayers sent that money to Washington and they deserve to get it back and not go to other states. A conundrum for a fiscal conservative I'm sure. This federal spending can impede private sector growth for one and often prompts more state spending.
Perry is the only governor of Texas that has cut general revenue spending since WW2.
Perry has advocated for the Legislature to cap spending at the rate of population growth plus inflation.

Sure Texas is running at a deficit now. I get it. Perry has also been the gov during two recessions btw. Economic conditions often make ones record foggy until you look at the details. There is still a "rainy day fund" of an estimated $6 billion but that is questionable do to some obligations coming up in the new budget. BUT, it's still some extra cashish that has been "preserved". Apparently at the expense of education...

I think I like him. And his hair is awesome. Anyone remember the story about when he was jogging and a coyote was about to make lunch of his puppy? He pulled out his laser sighted pitsol and turned the coyote "into mulch". Perry said he will carry his .380 Ruger – loaded with hollow-point bullets – when jogging on trails because he is afraid of snakes. He'd also seen coyotes in the undeveloped area.

When one came out of the brush toward his daughter's Labrador retriever, Perry charged.

"Don't attack my dog or you might get shot ... if you're a coyote"

    Love it.

from a strategy session in Austin today...

Talking to reporters about the prospect of a race, Perry mentioned the role played in his decision by his wife, Anita. Citing her background as a nurse whose father was "an old country doctor," Perry said she's particularly concerned about the consequences of federal health care reform. He also referred to their children, saying federal debt is "on their backs."
"My wife was talking to me and saying, 'Listen, get out of your comfort zone. Yeah, being governor of Texas is a great job, but sometimes you're called to step into the fray.' "

Hey, Perry, PLEASE STEP INTO THE FRAY!

  • As most of you know, since I wont' shut up about it, I work in porn.

But I don't talk about which studio I work for since most of you won't have heard of it and the few who have will be more vocal about how "I have no idea... I don't watch porn... nope.. not me..."

But the studio I work for is located on a rather large ranch about half an hour's drive north east of the city.

Not too long ago I was leaving the office late. I was in my MX5 with the top down, driving down the rather long drive way that leads away from the gates.

As I rounded the corner, I slowed to a crawl since the road is very loose gravel and I didn't wanna spin out. I came along side not one... not two... not three but FIVE coyotes. They're about the size of a larger German Shepherd. But a bit meaner-looking. Just a bit.

They looked at me, stayed still for a bit and stared. I was about 5 feet from them... in a convertible with the top down... They got a bit spooked and trotted away.

The idea of a coyote charging a dog near a human is absurd.

I don't just call "bullshit..." I say "he's lying. Because he's a liar. He made that up. It didn't happen."

And that is the kind of leadership we can expect from the kind of guy who's so scared of snakes (that can also be scared away with stomping of feet and yelling) that he needs a laser-aimed hand gun to go jogging.

I don't like to use the word "wussy." But if the shoe fits....

    sure. PM me.

(you know I make gay porn, right?)
  • Perry said she's particularly concerned about the consequences of federal health care reform.

Which consequences is she worried about, by the way?

That she'll have to treat people even if they're not rich?

That she'll have to like... touch people with below-averge incomes?

    That people will live longer?

Or wait... no... children won't have to wait until their conditions are untreatable to get any care?

Wow, what a humanitarian she is. And I love that protective head gear she's wearing.

I read yesterday that in the 10 years he has been governor (during two recesions mind you) Texas has created more jobs that the other 49 states combined.
    that seems pretty good right?

A lot of things "seem" good on paper.

But were those jobs mostly minimum-wage jobs, temporary jobs or just jobs he attracted from other states like that game company?

Because a president needs to do more than just shift jobs from one state to another or create short-term employment. There has to be a bottom-up growth that creates economic activity and consumer needs that create demand and therefore commerce which stimulates the economy into growth and recovery.

But you don't "seem" to want to address that.

If Texas wants to create growth and by doing so new jobs are formed and some jobs leave other states that's cool.

On the federal level, if the US wants to create growth and some jobs leave other coutnries that too is cool.

    Get it?

Jobs leaving other countries like all the jobs that Republicans have fought tooth and nail to send to other countries like all the call center jobs, manufacturing and development?

You really think he's got any intention or ability to reverse that?

Look... those jobs are gone. They're not coming back. We need to figure out where to go from here. And I don't think for a second that Perry is a guy who could do that. Please, he can't even go jogging without a machine gun and for some reason, a puppy.

Many of the jobs created are from trading with Latin America. That's cool right?

    Today from Reuters...

    CONSERVATIVE, WITH AN ECONOMIC RECORD

A vehement critic of federal power and a strong opponent of abortion rights and gay marriage, Perry has the sort of credibility with social and Tea Party conservatives that often eludes Romney, a former governor of liberal Massachusetts.

And his executive experience in conservative Texas, which has seen sharp job growth during his tenure, gives him economic talking points and an appeal to the pro-business party base that Bachmann and others cannot match.
