I'm blown away by how good the TCV record sounds. Just amazing.

Would you say it sounds better than the live boot (I don't mean the sound quality, but the energy)? I've only got the live boot so far and like it a lot ...

    Live boot on vinyl??

The album is better than the live show imo, and I thought they were pretty great live. Alotta cool stuff goin on that didn't quite make out of the studio.

I felt like they slowed stuff down to really nail a groove a little too much, live.

I saw them pretty late in the touring, so maybe they were tired of playing the same setlist every night, but I don't think it really lived up to reviews that I had read goin in.

Thank you! Yep, it's a vinyl live boot from a show in Germany. I love the jams :D

I don't have the live boot to compare it to, but I'll sure be looking for it now

I never bought the CD, I just had the digital files, .mp3 and .flac of the CD but the record blows them away. JPJ's bass is just so much more adamant on the record.

Is this the one you're talking about Lisa?

Yes, that's the one - I also pm'd you a link ;) I don't think the sound quality is best, but it's a live vinyl of a great gig. The studio album is definitely on my wishlist. But that will have to wait a little, I'm still waiting for my last purchases - Uke songs and Hot Sauce Committee pt. 2 :D

Cool thanks, though I haven't received the PM yet.

I haven't heard the new Beastie's album yet but from those pics posted earlier it looks like it might be sexy enough to buy regardless haha.

Still no PM in the inbox yet Lisa haha.

2 out of the 3 records I bought today were colored vinyls. That makes me a happy guy.

Been washing a lot of my mucky records - with stunning results! Highlight is Aretha Franklin - Lady Soul - some real 60s magic coming off that record now.

My friend's Dad is a complete hi fi freak - the cost of his system is actually too rude to mention in public - he does a lot of tweaking stuff for better sound - he's a bit crazy. I went round there to play him the original Who's Next I got recently, and he took the record and passed electricity through it with a device he has. I was cynical, but when I got home the sound difference was amazing! hahaha - freak

  • he gave them all to me (along with all his Beatles records) many years ago. I, in turn, wasn't yet into vinyl, so eventually gave them all to a friend of mine. My Dad turns around a year ago and says "I regret giving those to you, do you still have them?". So the buddy I gave them to, who I hadn't seen in 4 years, I see him when another buddy is in town, and I mention it to him. He says "they're yours!". Six months later, he finally gets around to going through them and I get them all back for my Dad, who only wanted the Beatles ones, and gave me the rest.

I spun the Guess Who Live at the Paramount two nights ago, and holy shit, there's a 13 minute version of American Woman on there that blew me away.
