    I think I kind of underestimated this whole deal. maybe, I was like "yeah, I have cancer; I'll kick it's sorry ass; see ya at PJ in the fall!" reality kind of kicked me in the (wherever) this week. I am sore or hurting from the soles of my feet to the the inside of my nose. I have a nasty rash on my arms (I've taken to long sleeve shirts, just so no one has to see it). and, in the area of cancer, let's just say that radiation in the butt region has a whole host of effects that you don't want to know about :shock: . I do know that Ed once said "it's hotter than the devil's asshole in here"....well, he could have made the same analogy with mine. :shock:

    but.......I'm all about positivity, right? yes, I am. so, what's going good?

    yesterday, they played I Am Mine during radiation.

    yesterday was the half way point of chemo.

    my blood work all looks good and even with all the side effects, the chemo doc wants to keep hitting it with the same dose. I agree.

    the chemo doc told me to quit my parttime job. I'm kind of glad he made that call because I was trying to soldier on....probably foolishly.

    After today's dose, two days without radiation. whoopee!

    all in all, just a sobering week. I will still beat cancer's punk ass!! I love hearing from you guys. :mrgreen:

    I forgot one other "good thing".... last week, my wife Codie was at her bookclub....she was talking with a fellow clubber who is the charge nurse at the oldest hospital in town...this lady said "he (me) needs to see T** K**!! well, guess what? T** K** IS my surgeon. the nurse says he's the best she's ever seen :mrgreen:

    I hate to hear about the crap that goes along with your treatment but it's incredible that you still manage to come here and update us after all that! I'm glad your doctor told you to quit your job. Taking care of yourself comes first.

    Maybe it's just me but it kinda gave me goosebumps to read that they played I Am Mine while you were getting therapy. Such a powerful song. :thumbup:

    On Wednesday my dad just finished 33 rounds of radiation for prostate cancer that slightly returned even though he had his prostate removed 6 or 7 years ago. He had to go 5 days a week which got a bit tiring for him (and mum)....but luckily he had no major side effects of the radiation except one day with blood in his pee. Some patients get that the entire time and a lot worse.

    Cancer fucking sucks.
