there's a good reason norm is the godfather of this board....he is as good a guy as you'll ever meet

we had a great time. I even had A beer prior to the show  . probably shouldn't have, but oh well. We also got to hang with Liz(ard) and Chris and it's always great to finally meet people. for a dod**r fan, Liz is surprisingly cool ;)

I start up on both chemo and radiation again tomorrow. only four more radiations and one more week (5.5 oz) of chemo. There is light at the end of the tunnel!! I'm so thankful we got to go to the show....I was having serious doubts.

Yeah, I like that one too.

Roger has always been a big Cash fan and I was looking for a clip from The Who's 2006 tour where he's standing in a bathroom and says he likes to sing in there before a show to warm up his voice. Then he starts singing ROF.
Instead I found that clip at the Bridge School and it kind of got me, seeing John again. :(

Back to topic, I just don't want to visualize your Ring of Fire.

since this started in May, I've had a ton of support. first, my wife's "social network" mobilized and I was getting flowers (flowers? :wtf: ), sweets and casseroles. then, you guys picked up the baton and I was hearing from PJ fans from, literally, all over the world  . thru it all, the fire department guys I had worked with for the last 25 years were largely silent. I mean, I got plenty of emails and stuff but no real outpouring. but I know these guys...I know they care...but I also know firefighters are conditioned to hold their feelings in because we see some bad crap that could cripple you if you let it.

so, anyway, today I get a package from the FD. inside is a story of how they decided to have some rubber braclets (ala Livestrong) made to show their support. they are poop brown with a poopy looking font that says "Save the Pooper" I guess they figured they would get the minimum order (35), sell them to the 20 guys at my old station, sell the other 15 and send me the proceeds for a good dinner. well, right from the get they were 100 orders behind. so they ordered 100 more. and then another 100. and then another 50. the whole fucking Las Vegas Fire Department is wearing "Save the Pooper" braclets for me  . Of course, I'm wearing one too.

they also sent a "Save the Pooper" plaque with pictures of me in my first and last year that says "First In, Last Out" (a FD thing about going into a fire......I think it's kind of a poop reference too  ) and pictures of people at all the stations wearing the bracelets. man, did that warm my heart.

as icing on the cake, a fellow SF Giants fan went to Detroit a couple of weeks ago. Giants vs. Tigers. The story has it that a couple of Giants wore a "Save the Pooper" bracelet on the field  .

You guys are all awesome. words can't express how much your support has meant. I'm going to beat this shit!! kick its sorry, punk ass!!

you ARE and you WILL continue to KICK CANCER'S SORRY ASS!!!

hugs & good vibes to you and Codie!! I hope she's doing well also after her ordeal!

I would LOVE a "save the pooper" bracelet!! Are they available for purchase? I am so serious right now. I would take a dozen or so if there is a way for me to buy them.
