There's nothing better than paying a few grand to fly in from overseas to see Wisconsin. Or if you are lucky enough you can pay an extra $500-600 to stay in Chicago for 2 nights.

    :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Yup $500/$600 in the offseason.

When PJ played there in 2009 my 3 nights was just about $225 total at a four star hotel right in downtown. No need to try and inflate every price for no need.

Most people don't plan on going alone.

Neither am I ,I had 2 other people with me. Flights were cheap too, less than $100 each way. 2 out of NYC and one out of DC.

Cheapest seat I found on aircanada.com is $351 from Halifax, to Toronto, then to Chicago. Aircanada has a 20% discount on select North American flights: Book by February 9. Hopefully it's not more expensive in the day's ahead (which it will be). :(
  • I knew it would be an excellent year for WI!

I love how most people are suprised we have an airport.... We even have electricity, too (If you're lucky)!

Airport is less than 45min to venue- and this is a quick drive. And, Chicago is a bitch to get into or out of, pending traffic.... It could easily add another 2+ hrs to your trip from there.

Not sure how easy it is to rent a car if you are from overseas(which the person you told to go to Chicago is) with no US drivers license or insurance. It may be easy, but I'm not exactly sure how that works.

If we choose to stay in Milwaukee, what is the best area for a nice hotel?

Any advice on any of the hotels closer to the venue?

    Exactly.

Madison is also in the vicinity. Ultimately it depends on your wallet and timing your arrival/departure.
Just saying you might find cheaper and more frequent flights to/from Chicago than the smaller cities.

And yes ms. addle Chicago can have its headaches at rush hour.

$280 return to chicago vs $550 return to Milwaukee on any given Thursday flight out, Mondary return home from my location (in august/september that is)...

No matter what way you cut it, renting a car and driving from Chicago is going to be the way I'm going... If anybody wants to organize car pool and maybe a hotel around flying into chicago on a thursday and leaving through chicago on a Monday, let me know... cause my buddy is going to bail on me at this location for sure...

The logistics of this location are going to suck big fat fucking donkey balls....

Why not just rent out Ziekler Park a couple of weekends before ACL and do us all a favour? Plenty of hotels, cheap flights, etc....

I think we are just using the end of summer as the barometer and thats the last weekend in August. Just a gauge to guesstimate flight prices.

It's just a guess. August 27th marks the 20th anniversary Pearl Jam's Ten record was released. Seeing that this August 27th lands on a Saturday, and it's a weekend, and late in the summer, 100:1 chance PJ20 will be played that weekend. Just a guess.

I'd sleep next to a couple of goats if it meant saving 75% off high-end hotel rooms.
And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
    I stand alone without beliefs

I am booked and ready to go...
