    Just heard your new song! Really really good, probably one of my favs so far. Is it just my imagination or is the sound even better on this track??? Probably just me! :lol: Well done and good luck for your concert!

    thanks, Lorna! yeah, i think the sound is better on this one. there's been a noticeable difference/progression as we've gone along. we're getting better w/ mic placement and i think our mixing has progressed as well. Here We Are sounds pretty rough compared to what we're doing now. part of that is b/c we were learning as we went (and still are!) and all of my parts (vocals, guitar, piano, etc) were recorded using the built-in microphone on my MacBook. once i hooked up the MOTU, everything changed. the MOTU allows me to run a direct line into my computer. i think we're also more comfortable with our new instruments. i think you're all going to be really surprised with how Life Can Go sounds! anyway, there's my explanation! :D Chris could probably explain it better!! ;)

    we're hoping Chris doesn't get snowed in.....fingers are crossed!!!

    Oh okay, yeah that makes sense, not that Here We Are sounded bad at all though. it was great. :D I would love some snow right now!! It's been over 40 degrees celcius (104 F) here 3 days in a row!!!! :?

    I think Matt said it well. We're just getting lots better at capturing sound. Takes lots of fiddling with controls, knobs, etc., placing the microphones just right and a shitload of patience. I know on my end that getting a book on how to make the most of home recording has helped quite a bit. Still though, it's also Matt and I getting better as players and comfortable writing together. Glad you liked the song.

    We'd love to have warm weather back Lorna! We're about to get slammed with .5 m of snow. Combined with the wind, it's an official blizzard! Booking a trip to WA this morning actually. So excited to finally get back to our second home and see family and old friends!

    :lol: That's what my Aussie family always says. My in-laws visited us back in 2008 and we met in Colorado for some hiking. Dad was excited because there was just enough snow on the mountains for him to pick up!

    yeah, we're just about to leave Waco & head to Dallas. hope the roads aren't too bad. Chris' flight was cancelled, so they're taking a flight tomorrow....we should be ok as long as Love/DFW re-open. :?
