this team sucks
Zumoff is the worst. I guess CSN had nothing going on last night and showed a Wings game from like '88 or something(on Prism, sweet), and Zumoff was doing the "sideline reporting".
They just can't finish. Terrible 4th quarter team.
I like him. He's so cheesy he's likable...if that makes sense.
'turns garbage into gold'...
EDIT: actually I like all of the philly announcers. I don't like saunders goal call, but his play-by-play is solid. the only crew that sucks is the phils TV guys, except for sarge...ironic since the phils are my favorite of the 40 -

i was out and missed the game but checking updates on my phone. stopped checking when they were up by 20 in the 4th. turned to a friend and said "can you believe the sixers are about to win their 4th straight?" woopswww.myspace.com0 -

yeah, he was in there in the fourth. I was laughing when I saw that.
I thought game was over in the third. was watching dateline nbc with the wife (she loves that shit). I got a text from a buddy that the sixers suck. I was so confused...I figured the game was over. Flipped back and saw that it was tied.
Kate Fagan's article about iguodala today was pretty good. Here's my favorite paragraph...
Even if the Sixers have a shot at this season's playoffs, it's meaningless in the NBA to be the sixth, seventh, or eighth seed. The team would merely be delaying the inevitable: admitting they're not good enough to contend. Yes, trading Iguodala might make it more difficult for the team to earn one of the aforementioned playoff spots, but at this time the franchise can't concern itself with meaningless playoff appearances when faced with such a crucial decision.0 -

haha....you're funny dude. she presented two arguments to trading him. i read it. obviously this was the part you liked.
i don't really fall into either of the two arguments she posted. to me everything is not black or white. i think the team can continue to improve without him (by saying that i mean still winning around 35-38 games). i think they're like 6-7 without him this year. get rid of him. hopefully get some expiring contracts and see what happens. in the nba there's clearly not much difference between, say, the 16th pick and 17th pick in the draft anyway if they end up with a low seed. just learn how to win and let these young bucks grow up in the process.

yeah, I know she showed both sides...I never said she insinuated he should be traded. Point is, as I've been saying, is that getting another shit playoff seed is nothing to get excited about.
They should try to trade him, but it's gonna be tough. I wouldn't give him away.
Dalembert's expiring contract sure would be nice right about now.
This team is constructed about as well as a soup sandwich0 -

nobody's excited about a 7th seed man. after the first 3 seeds you can argue nobody has a shot in the nba anyway. the point is there's hardly any difference between mid teen picks in the nba draft. it is a total crap shoot. and they are not nearly as bad as to fall far enough to have a good shot at a top pick. in my opinion the experience will only be good for these young bucks.www.myspace.com0 -

how you gonna get one by missing the playoffs by a couple games, guy? yes, i just "guy'd" you.you must have much more faith in the 15 pick in the nba draft than i do.
gotta work with what you have. so let these young bucks learn how to win. hopefully jrue holiday turns out to be as good as i think he has a shot at being and maybe, bingo, you got a star there. only one way to find out.www.myspace.com0 -

easiest way to get star players is via free agency...which is why they should be trying to acquire as many expiring contracts as possible. perfect example of why I hated the dalembert trade when it went down...and I hate it even more now (after seeing hawes and nocioni play for 4 months)
they're a mess. you stay optimistic though0 -

so then i don't get why you keep saying they should tank the season. you keep contracting yourself.www.myspace.com0 -

free agency is the easiest way...top 10 picks don't hurt either
this team is stuck in an endless cycle of mediocrity. I just don't see how you can get behind such ineptitude. I know you keep bringing up holiday in the middle of the 1st round as a good pick, which it was. The success rate of picks in the top 10 are most likely higher than picking around 20...so the more games they lose, the better they are in my opinion.0 -

i think the bottom line is we view the current talent level differently. i'm not thinking of getting a top pick in the draft because i think we're too good to lose enough games to get us to that point. i see them winning around 35-38 games. you've mentioned john hollinger from time to time, when he agrees with your views, he's got them at 39 wins in his projections today. so again, i don't think i'm being overly optimistic about calling them a below average team, i think i'm being very realistic.
and this year's draft is not supposed to be that deep. even so, in the nba after the first few picks, its a crap shoot. i mean your boy spencer hawes went 10th a couple years ago. yeah! let's get the 10th pick in the nba draft! if they miss the playoffs, you're getting somewhere around 13-16. awesome.
regarding the mediocrity, if you can't see the difference between this years team and last year's, again--i will say you are not watching them consistently. they're clearly better and moving in the right direction. but i support my teams win or lose. and i call them out if they are going nowhere. not sure when you started posting here but all you have to to is flip back to the beginning of this thread last year to see that.www.myspace.com0 -
you're rambling dude. is this team better than last year? of course...but that's not saying much.
if you think they're well set up for the next few years...well, then I don't know what to tell you. I just don't see it. holiday and young (who may not even be here next year) are nice pieces. turner looks like he's gonna be a good, but not great player. that gives you 3 guys. it takes a lot more than that to become a serious contender.
what the hell does marissa miller see in the chris anderson? he looks like a HUUUGE douche0 -
solid win vs a good team. that's how you finish.
fantastic game by iguadala...young thadeous--doug collins is getting so much out of this kid...the rook didn't shoot too well but i love the effort. 2 rebounds shy of a double double. this bench is pretty damn good.
4 out of 5 with the nets on deck and then a home and home against the knicks.
edit--doug collins' press conferences are actually enjoyable to watch. guy's funny and is a wealth of knowledge.www.myspace.com0 -

he actually played like an all star last night. if dude plays even 3/4ths as good on a consistent basis, i'd say keep him. he'll probably come out and give us 9 points against the nets...www.myspace.com0
