To the Americans - you don't know the luxury you have over there of being able to see the greatest band on the planet so often - every three years we get a chance, as limited as it is, to see them in concert. I have to be content with bootlegs, and I am extremely happy and proud to have them made available to me to own, and I cherish everyone of them. There is no other band with such a prolific output, and I love them for it. So I just work a bit longer to pay for more, and I don't mind one little bit because I'm hooked.

I'm no consumer rights expert, but it would seem to me to be extremely dodgy business practice to retrospectively charge you more for an item purchased in good faith based on the then current goods description. As far as I can see, at the time you renewed your membership the item description specified delivery of hard copies of both Deep and the Holiday vinyl. If I were you I would not send any cc details until you have received clarification on this.
This is a good point. I would suspect that if you didn't "upgrade," you get Deep and the record, but no t-shirt or download. If this is not the case, that's certainly a problem. Probably worth getting some clarification, if somebody is choosing to go that route and gets a definitive answer.
This makes me wonder... if 10C is not living up to their end of the contract (no Deep last year, inconsistent 'holiday' singles sent out), we consumers have more legal ground here, even before the legal membership contract change. :?:

Possibly but the apologists would probably sabotage the case and protest outside of the courtroom Donna Martin Graduates style. Their obsession and love for the club rivals people's complaints 100:1 so they would no doubt take it personal.
I would never consider suing for something so trivial but sadly, that would be about the only thing that could get their attention. If it hasn't changed by now, it probably never will.
Holy sense of entitlement on this board. It is very typical these days for people 30 and under. See most of them get everything for free (spoiled) because of the internet so if you charge them for something the f-ing sky is falling and they can't calculate it. Most of you get shit for free like bootleg DVD's & CD's that the band does not say shit about. 10c wrote me back yesterday and said since i'm paid until 11/11 i'll receive the record and deep but not the t-shirt. didn't offer me a way to upgrade but if i like the shirt i'll go the ebay way. their designs are mostly miss for me anyway.

I wish there was as much strong feeling and passions aroused when discussing the music, as there seems to be whenever the favoured topic of argument comes up - Ten Club. I'm fucking bored of hearing about the Ten Club. I wanna hear what people think about the music! Such involved discussion of THAT is what is woefully thin a lot of times around here imho

I've enjoyed backspacer loads - and tried to articulate why I like it on quite a few occasions. However, after spending 18 months reading this forum I think I would find it hard to tell you quite why the people that don't like it don't like it. I could however give you a detailed list of the exact reasons people don't like the Ten Club, right off the top of my head. Forum members seem very articulate on these points

i agree... don't know for sure what it is i dislike about backspacer... i just know it never clicked... its hard to articulate your grievances when your favorite band doesn't live up to your expectations... the guitars are too clean, the lyrics too "mature"/"cheesy" for me, the songs don't sound like a collective effort, too upbeat... i dunno
i think thats why its so easy to hate on the 10C... its NOT PJ... if PJ was more closely tied to the club you know there'd be a lot more people pussyfooting around their complaints... if people thought PJ was reading the forum they'd be a lot more careful about what they wrote
