** TEN CLUB ANALOG AND DIGITAL MEMBERSHIPS **

I don't have a problem with the $40 .... the way I see it is I will get a shirt (which I pay about $25 for each year anyway), plus the bootleg download is cool, also it will make the 45's more rare. I like this. I do feel for the $20 digital people though, it really should have been dropped to $15. I will be doing the analog and so will my girlfriend0

(And having some who go to extreme lengths to do so certainly doesn't help with that.)
Someone already mentioned Metallica.... Fan only gigs, meet & greets, backstage passes....
Very true. Any idea how many fan club only shows they've done? I ask because I know Pearl Jam has a couple under their belt...Vic, Irving Plaza, a couple tv tapings.
MetClub might be the only one I've seen so far where you certainly seem to get more, dollar for dollar. Maybe R.E.M. If Pearl Jam is second or third, is that so bad? Worth people getting apoplectic over?0 -
After reading 12 of the 38 pages, I hope this doesn't get lost in the ridiculous amount of whining...
For those of you that joined early (91-95): How many of you guys had a record player back then?
I only ask this because I know when I joined I did not own a record player, making my "holiday" single useless! That's right kids, I paid $15 dollars every year for a CHANCE at getting concert tickets and a piece of vinyl, without complaining.
Now I realize record players are back in style. In fact, I purchased one a few years back. But, how many of you have a record player today and actually listen to the "annual" single? If they offered this years ago, I would have been grateful to get an MP3 version of the single and ACTUALLY get to hear the song!
I realize some of these complaints come from personal experiences, but I have never been given a reason to complain and will gladly pay for a rare vinyl single and shirt. I have always been able to get tickets to shows with great seats and receive my orders on time. I guess I'm sort of wondering; what more do you guys want? The next time they tour, do this: Jump on Ebay, look for tickets, ANY shirt and holiday single and tell me $40 isn't a deal.0 -
just got back into town & saw what was going on. when i renew, i'll go w/ analog. not sure what all the fuss is about---yeah, it costs more. but you get a shirt & a download. seems fair to me. happy 2011, everyone!! it's going to be a fun year!!!!I LOVE MUSIC.

That's pretty awesome. I like Metallica a lot, but not quite like Pearl Jam. I'll join the MetClub whenever they hit the road to grab tickets, but don't feel compelled to keep my membership up otherwise. Again, just a question of value I suppose. It never occurred to me to gripe on their message board; my membership just lapses and I move along.0 -
Just talked to someone at 10c, they said all you have to do is contact them over phone and they can upgrade ur already renewed account to Analog if you want. E-mail with credit card number and shirt size plus saying you wanna upgrade to analog also works as they are having computer trouble today.0

If the 40 bucks insured that we wouldnt get treated like shit heads and actually got a service (ie, having questions answered in a direct way ect) It'd be well worth it but they couldn't pull that shit off when it was $20 so i can't see paying double making the ten c any more useful to me. i don't see what would justify me spending another 20 bucks just to get what i already have been. I say they take the extra money and hire some more people , we don't need t shirts.. we need a better ten c staff who is concerned with more than just our bank accounts and what chach kee they can sell to us on any given day. Seriously pearl jam, lets keep shit real in this upcoming decade!I just hate to see the new year start out with even more people questioning ten club and pearl jams validity. Until ten c can ensure better service, i'll just stick to this digi shit.. kind a lame but.. whatever.. im not here for the gismos and doo dads, im here for the meat and potatoes (ie, my face being melted off by five chaps) . so until they start to suck live, i guess ten c will still get my 20 bucks a year.

So you will pay $20 to get questions answered faster but not for a T-shirt and a concert download. hahahahahahahahaMember 164xxx

Having questions answered at ALL would be an improvement. If they want to treat this like a business/customer thing than its time to start acting like it.I have all the concerts i could ever listen to and enough pearl jam shirts to cloth a small country. So yes, i'd be more than happy to pay more if the service was actually being improved upon and imho, a shirt and a free download is not improving the service..0 -

I have never not gotten an answer from the 10 club when I have emailed them so I can not agree with you here.
Well since you have all the shirts you need and all the concert downloads you need then why complain about anything? You can still just pay a $20 membership fee and be eligible to get tickets. I don't see what you are complaining about.Member 164xxx

I don't need another shirt, especially not if I can't chose the image myself.
And I, like many other fans, don't need another bootleg since I have more than enough of these.
If they want to give them away for free, it's OK with me. But now I am forced to buy them since I don't get the x-mas Single otherwise. I'm talking about the vinyl, not the digital stuff. The whole point of the X-mas single is that it's on vinyl.
$50 for the Single is to much in my eyes.
BUT it would be great if 10-C could answer questions and give us information before we can read these somewhere else.0 -

You can still pay $20 and buy a record on ebay. The price of everything goes up. I love how they add items we get to the membership and people still cry and cry.

The whole communication between the Tenclub and the fans became worse the last years. You haven't noticed?
For example, they try to be as nonspecific as possible when it comes to tour announcements.
I remember times when they announced a complete tour at once, and gave the fans the opportunity to make decent plans.
Now, they release it step by step, without letting us know what their plans are. So people decide to travel to far away places because they want to see their favourite band, but don't know if they'll come to their area.
They promised something big and free, and never lost a word about it again.
To both topics, questions were never answered.
The Tenclub does a lot of great things, and is a good organisation.
But it could be way better, and that should be the goal.
They answered most of my questions.
They also helped me when I had problems in the past, but the service became worse over the years.
And this new membership deal is based on a good thought, but it is created very poorly and not fan friendly.Post edited by William Wallace on0 -

Ummm.. pretty sure i wasnt complaining about anything.. I love how everyone is so uptight and ready to fight on here that they don't even realize when someone is just sharing a thought ... My only point was that an upcharge of another 20 bucks is utterly useless to me personally... hince why i'm sticking to the digital thing.0 -
It's funny, because any time I've requested anything from them, I've always received a timely response.Don't come closer or I'll have to go0

For the last 2 tours I have had more than 2 months to make plans to go to the show. How much more do you honestly need? the Eddie Vedder tour was announced 4 months in advance. Don't you think you are reaching a bit. If you can't get a flight and a hotel in a week something is wrong. Money on the other hand is another issue. That is why every year I put $5 per week into a jar for a PJ tour and if they don't come that year it rolls over and maybe I can see 2+ shows. It's all about planning ahead.
The new membership It's completely Fan friendly for me!!! Now I get 3 limited edition items every year instead of 1.
When exactly did they announce something big and free?Member 164xxx
