After having processed this for a half day this is all I got. I really think teams are content to let the Cowboys move up and down the field on them, and just wait for Garrett to do something stupid (3 smoke screens in a row after we were moving the ball), or one of the players to committ a penalty (Witten was a hidden genius at this last year, but it was Bennett, Bryant, and Mr. Barron yesterday), and then miss a FG. Phillips is a genius D Coordinator, his players will go to war for him, but jesus fucking christ win already. Sorry that is all. Hopefully we win next week, and get some confidence moving forward.

I agree about the win already...the problem is losing to teams like Washington puts them behind and they have to play catch up, just like last year, they need to put urgency into every game. Phillips has done a good job with the D, with the exception that they don't create turnovers, Garret is awful and the O is very plain and predictable. Last week game had so many mistakes, just terrible. The one that really came to my mind that is never talked about was the 3rd and 2 with 6 minutes or so to go and they tossed to Choice and he was dropped for a loss...2 problems here, if Barber is your number 1 back then he has to be in the game with only six minutes left, problem 2, if your going to try that play then use Jones, he is the fastest back and gives you the best chance on that play.

Do the Cowboys even use a game plan? If so, why not stick with it? They start off running the ball really well in the first quarter, then in the second they get away from it and go pass happy. The d in the first is blitz happy, then in the second we hardly see it till the last minute of the second. If they have a plan, it's an odd plan. To me, unless they are getting smoked Barber should get 20 carries and Jones 15 carries and 6-10 pass plays. I'd like to see more of Bryant as well.

They need to win today or they'll likely be 0-3 at the bye week.

Plenty of talent...poor coaching, game planning and far to many mistakes. These last few seasons has convinced me that they will/can not win consistently with Jones that involved in the team. He needs to turn the team over to his son and hire a GM, and sit in the press box and be quiet, but that will never happen. Look at Miami, not as much taent, but better coaching, the boys could have had that head coach.

I think this one is on the players just as much as the coaches, if not more so. They just aren't that good. Outside of Ware and Jenkins, who are the playmakers on defense? Can anyone catch the ball other than Austin, and apparently Bryant? Losing Witten like that hurt, but come on! Buehler should not be the field goal kicker. Lots of mistakes on the OL.

I don't know, the Bears made plays and the Cowboys made mistakes. The interceptions were caused by tipped balls and great plays by the Bears. Cutler made some good throws (God knows why) and they just outplayed Dallas.

I've been on board with this running back by committee thing, but no longer. One of these guys needs to be traded. Its just too much. You can't get any kind of a rhythm going when you have to split touches between three talented backs.

I don't know. Maybe they turn it around, but right now, they aren't even close to being a playoff team.

I'll put the responsibility of a fiasco of a team on the owner's shoulder, he wants to run the team his way but really wtf, sorry I look around the league and see what well run teams do, for me it's not hard to see. This team is very talented, but poorly managed, poorly coached and poorly prepared. The only time this team under Jones has had any real success was when JJ was running the team and making the calls. Philips is a neutered head coach, if he had any balls he'd tell Jones that Austin and Bryant are my number 1 and 2 receivers, that Barber and Jones are my 1 and 2 backs and Choice will only see action when the game is decided, but most importantly he would tell Jones that Garrett sucks as a OC, who knows maybe he has but I doubt it.

  • I can't believe that you people are giving up in week 2. Gimme a break. There is a ton of football to be played and the Boys are just getting started! We will bounce back and go 1-2 before the bye. That might be enough to be tied for the division lead. The NFC East is crappy this year...

    My little rant here......

    1) How did they not call forward progress on the play where Roy Williams got stripped???? That was three or four seconds long easily........Aikman/Buck didn't even comment on it.
    2) Who's the jackass that called the first onside kick after the punt return? Way to kill all of the momentum and give them great field advantage.
    3) We have three great backs....but can't do shit with any of them. This 3 headed system seems to have lost its spark....

going 0-2 in your conference isn't exactly the way a super bowl contending team is supposed to play. just cause the nfc east is crappy doesn't mean we have to play like crap too. this team is gonna be 0-3 after the houston game. houston would love nothing more then to stick it to dallas. what pisses me off even more is i just ordered a new cowboys hat and they play like shit.

    1. Well, I was going to mention that but I didn't want to gripe about officiating. However, that was a blatant missed call. Especially when the called the Cowboys for a late hit earlier in the game on Brooking when he hit a guy after the his forward progress was "stopped".
    2. Wade. And Bueller fucked it up.
    3. Agree. I didn't agree with this before but I see now. There is no flow. One of them needs to be traded.

Oh, and run the damn ball!! What is up with the 51 pass plays?? This should not be a pass-wacky team. Garrett has too many weapons. He can't make up his mind. Throwing 51 times isn't going to win games.

I haven't given up yet. Lots of chaos so far. Look at the Giants and Philly. Both are very inconsistent. The Patriots got blown. The Dolphins are undefeated. The Vikings are 0-2. KC is undefeated. Too much chaos to give up now.

as for Roy Williams, he wasn't wrapped up, and Roy was still fighting for yardage. Peanut, as he is known to do, punched the ball out yet again. He's got the best ball jab in the NFL.

I agree the NFC East isn't very good, but lose to Houston and this season is over. What frustrates me is its the same mistakes game in, game out. They supposedly have all these weapons yet Garrett can not figure out how to use them. I still say all the problems lie right a Jerry Jone's feet, he needs to step back and let Philips coach and the head coach and if that means Dez starts over Williams so be it, if that means he tells Garrett to stick with the run so be it, but I know that won't happen till they cart Jones off to the old age home.
