It's simply just one of those songs that will never sound as good live as the studio version. And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.0 -

c'mon, you HAD to expect people would talk about it on the board ... no? If you really wanted to be surprised, you should of avoided the Porch. Not said to be mean, just honest.
This thread is all sorts of awesome. Can't wait to see where it goes."You're one of the few Red Sox fans I don't mind." - Newch91

although it's not like you didn't know this wasn't probably one of the songs.0 -
dwjmu84 wrote:wow.....i don't think i've ever been more underwhelmed by a PJ performance. why the FUCK didn't they go with force of nature????? could have packed such a punch! maybe it was th mixing (a la got some on conan) but i literally sat there feeling NONE of the raw power and beauty that unthought known carries on backspacer. i just think this was poor song choice given the platform. on national TV you've GOT to go heavy....im even thinking GSMF would have been a good choice. maybe i'll get burned for this but man that was not impressive at all!
....just my opinion and I still love them.
The mix did suck, and Eddie played a little sloppy at the end (he had a broken string afterall) hitting the wrong chord at the beginning of the final verse coming out of the bridge. I thought they did a good job though.0 -

hi....then don't read the threads until you have. thanks for playing.0 -
I'm replying to my post first. . . I think it will. And I think we'll all be getting our dose of "Down" at most of the shows. . . great song. . . not complaining by any means. I especially think Ed will have something to say about Howard Zinn at the Boston shows. . . I am taking for granted that there will be more than one. Boston is the bands favorite place to pay after all. . .0

well, a simple youtube search yields better versions of this beautiful song. i've got a 7.1 surround sound system too.....so im not wanting for technical ability here.0
