Stick to Party politics, in the end, the parties will stick it to the citizens.
To all the Dems who voted for Obama in the dellusion that he would change things, what do you say for yourself now? Feel like you were swindled? You should!
To all the Reps who falsely claim a return to small, limited government and return to origins of freedom, the constitution and fair play, why is it you only say these things while a Dem is in office? The rest of the time you're busy robbing the public and trying to conquer the world via wars, globalization and other false guises.
To all the 3rd party voters, if you don't consistently build your base without it being mere fringe issues and take serious stands on issues in order to win over other voters you will never be significant. All how bout all those 3rd party voters who show up when they're so fed with the other 2 party's for an election and then go back afterwards?
In the end, vote, or don't vote, your input is insignifcant. The owners of this nation run the show, lobbying, media, politicians, the military industrial complex... we're all just pawns in their world.

Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a law-breaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. - Louis Brandeis

The changes necessary to fix our country or world won't be coming from a voting booth, it'd sooner come from burning them down.Jeanwah wrote:In the end, vote, or don't vote, your input is insignifcant. "It is the duty of every patriot to protect his country from its government"
Thanks Tom, but can you tell me how?If hope can grow from dirt like me ...0 -
That simply means to be a good citizen... stay informed, stay active and participate. This is required for a representative government...without informed, active citizens, the government is left to its own devices which leads to corruption, self-interest and greed for business interests.Big Drop wrote:"It is the duty of every patriot to protect his country from its government"

People have to educate themselves on issues home and abroad and until they do, they'll just sit on their hands taking it in the hopes they'll always be some savior who comes around to fix everything while they do as little as possible. Our government is merely a reflection of our society and world. Garbage in, garbage out.Jeanwah wrote:Yes. And? Got any ideas for starting the revolt? I have a question....
When you speak of revolution and revolt....
What exactly are you talking about??
What would YOU have in mind, as far as the perfect revolution????
I am just curious...Take me piece by piece.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....0 -
Sometimes I wonder what the founding fathers would say about our country in it's current state. I can't help but think that in many ways, our forefathers fought the revolution because they opposed exactly what our government has become. The only thing missing is a King.0

(I had to think about it....) I didn't forget you Speedy.
I'm not really sure, but I'd like to see people actually caring enough about the bigger issues to the point that they walk out of their cozy holes they call houses and get into the streets. I'm not one for violence, but revolution can only happen if the people in numbers increase to the point that those in charge must listen. There has to be a better way for it to happen than to riot, but I don't know what that would be. Sometimes it has to happen that way, I guess, like with the Iran elections. Public use of Twitter also really spread the word world-wide, seeing that mainstream media would kill any news of anything happening, so power in numbers is the only way for anything to happen.0 -

that's pretty convenient for you. you get to sit on your hands and wait until everyone else magically becomes educated enough to revolt.0 -

It depends on which founding father, really. Most of them would have gotten out of the time machine, taken it all in for a couple of weeks, and promptly proceeded to either kill themselves, or to take the same time machine back to pre-Boston Tea Party and cancelled the whole thing. Why have all the bloodshed if they knew for sure that the empire was going to win eventually anyway-- which they have figured out if they saw America 2009.
Other interesting points:
-Some would have gotten nauseous at the idea of a black president.
-Some would have loved that he got elected as a sign of progress for those of the founders who truly believed that "all men were created equal," but probably would have hated his policies.
-Some would have tried to toke up right on the street and would have been absolutely confused why they were being arrested for it.
-Some would have probably shot the cop that tried to have tried to take his gun away for not having a permit to carry that gun.
-Some would probably be high-fiving Cindy Sheehan and would be along side her and groups like Code Pink.
-Some probably wouldn't be caught dead protesting with women.
-Just about all of them would be considered domestic terrorists or enemy combatants, and would probably be held in Guantanamo Bay, next to members of Al-Queada.
Regardless, we as free individuals have no reason not to back the principles and rights as stated in the Constitution when we truly apply it to all people. We have everything to gain, and nothing to lose if we try and restore our Republic with liberty and justice for ALL.0 -
I have a feeling that 90% of the people in the USA. are perfectly happy and content with their lives......and see no reason for revolt........
Sure things could be better for some....I get that.....But if they are unhappy with their situation, I think they can look in the mirror to find out what their problems are......
But overall.....I think most people are happy with their lives......Take me piece by piece.....

can't speak for her, but personally i'd be happy to see dc reduced to rubble, the usa as we know it splintered into 5-6 smaller, more manageable countries divided along regional and political lines, and a huge step backwards from our usual position as the biggest guy on the international scene.0 -

But what is it that we are revolting against???
What is it that makes you want to hit the streets in protest???
What is so wrong with life here in the USA, that we need to revolt???Take me piece by piece.....

Pretty condescending eh?
Fact is we live in an age where everyone has access to information, education, resources and every other tool possible to fix the world around them, yet they don't because of comfort, laziness and disinterest. And because I acknowledge this fact, I'm sitting on my hands? Gimme a break. Thomas Jefferson never picked up a gun and shot at the redcoats during the Revolution, but his ideas, thoughts and actions help create a revolution and empowered people to follow through on it. Our society is in such dire conditions and thoughts, no one wants to be honest when they look around, instead it's easier to live and put up illusions. Reap what you sow in life.soulsinging wrote:that's pretty convenient for you. you get to sit on your hands and wait until everyone else magically becomes educated enough to revolt.CONservative governMENt
