Yeah, at the show you could totally tell the sound guy brings Mike back up loudly as soon as the teacher butchers the song.0

This boot is fantastic. One of the best versions of Amongst the Waves I've heard.0

Little Wing: It is what it is, Ed and Matt letting their child/teen-year music teachers sit in with the band. The drums are awesome, that's not Matt -- he sat off to the side. And the drum teacher has actually posted in this thread! (again, awesome job man!).
While watching it live, as a guitarist, I just couldn't help thinking, "Oh man, he doesn't wanna solo .. NO MIKE DON'T PASS IT OFF TO HIM!!!" Ed's teacher was very content to embrace the "less is more" ethic of guitar playing, he was in his groove crunchin out muted chords and jivin' with the band. When Mike went up to him to pass the lead, i dunno, it's like he was warming up to it at that point when he needed to fire that rocket off. It's like he wanted to just jam for a few more verses to work up to a punch, and he didn't get the time. I recall Mike kinda being there with him and getting this "ruh-roh" feeling and takin the lead back, slowly interjecting some notes over him and then just takin it back...
It's just totally unfair to put him (teacher) in a dueling banjos scenario with a 20-year touring rocker shredding week-in-week out with numerous bands (Mike). The teacher was happiest just playin rhythm methinks and there ain't nuthin' wrong with that.
A bit awkward during the solo, but overall a very memorable and enjoyable moment![sic] happens0

I think to be fair with the guitar teacher....he may not have known the solo...or have gone rogue. We don't know the curcumstances before the show nor is it important. Both teachers were probably just really happy to be up on stage playing guitar and drums.
Listening to it, it's not the best, but really honestly guys, they're guests, SPECIAL guests to Eddie and Matt. It was probably just fun having them there on stage.0

Jesus...is the crowd even singing "Betterman"??? By the sounds of the bootleg I would say no, but having been there myself I know that wasn't the case at all as we were all singing at the top of our lungs!! I'm kind of dissapointed the crowd is not better represented on this bootleg. Still a great show and excellent bootleg non the less.

that sucks! haha...All that for nothing on the boot. That was my favorite part! Not to mention I was looking forward to that song on the boot.0

I'll have to second that. After listening to twice through, the crowd was about ten times louder in person. That show was off the hook. The last bootleg from San Diego had a pretty good representation of the show and crowd, I was surprised this one didn't.120XXX0

It's just the way it recorded. that's all. Somehow, it didn't pick up most of the audience, which sucks, because the audience was the best I've ever heard. Betterman shook the place!!!0

i see that san diego boot is one of the best with la 3-4"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
 "..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”0

At 2:28 ish -- is it fitting on 2 disks? Oh right, no piano intro and snipped intermissions? Think Audio CDs hold about 1:20 each?
Man yeah, sad to hear audience is mixed low -- blessing and a curse though. While I don't wanna hear those folks who "want to be heard..." I do want to hear us all sing, and Eddie was so proud of us all, braggin to his teacher mid-Betterman![sic] happens0

i'm actually pretty disapointed with the sound of the bootlegs this tour. don't get me wrong, i'm grateful the band does this for us, but i wanted to hear the crowd singing along. plus i think eddie's mic is a little too loud. but hye, it's better than nothing 0 0

Man...what a pain in the ass. I loaded disc 1 and itunes didn't recognize the disk so I had to enter the names of the tracks manually. Then disc 2 went in and the same thing...only it mixed the two together until I went through and one by one labled the album title on the songs of the 2nd disc... San Diego, CA disc 2... and in the right order.
I'm not the most computer savvy person so it took a while for me to figure out how to do this. Frustrating man...but I was actually proud of myself. Anyways...it sounds great. No..we don't sound as loud as we really were...but I'm ok with the mix as a whole.
edit: BTW...SF and LA3 were recognized by itunes and were easy to load in. Anyone know why SD wasn't?"Had my eyes peeled both wide open, and I got a glimpse...of my innocense, got back my inner sence, baby got it...still got it"0

haha! I'm soo glad you posted this. I had the same issue! I was bummed...I had to put in everything as well. I don't know, I think Kufala messed up, or something happened during the recording. Or iTunes failed to reconize the label. either way, i'm glad that was the only problem...I would hate for there to be 23 EMPTY songs. It is an extreme pain to put in song for song (especially when you have to click on the Track just to type it in....ugh.0

Thanks for the pictures! So whats the final verdict on the quality of this boot? I still haven't purchased it and probably won't if its as bad as some are saying it is.Post edited by Better Dan on2003: San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Seattle; 2005: Monterrey; 2006: Chicago 1 & 2, Grand Rapids, Cleveland, Detroit; 2008: West Palm Beach, Tampa; 2009: Austin, LA 3 & 4, San Diego; 2010: Kansas City, St. Louis, Columbus, Indianapolis; 2011: PJ20 1 & 2; 2012: Missoula; 2013: Dallas, Oklahoma City, Seattle; 2014: Tulsa; 2016: Columbia, New York City 1 & 2; 2018: London, Seattle 1 & 2; 2021: Ohana; 2022: Oklahoma City0
