    It's one persons review... who cares!?!? So what the guy has a differing opinion than others. Emailing him is not going to amount to anything anyways. I can't help but laugh at how people get all frantic and angry just because their friends or a music critic says something negative about the band. Not everybody has to like them....

    Yeah he probably doesnt give a shit about what I think but oh well. It just chaps my ass a bit that someone can write such a negative review about an album that is an absolute masterpiece. Its like he writes it just to piss people off. If he had any sort of ear for music there is no way it would have been that negative...in my opinion.

    unfortunately that makes you both as bad as each other.
    oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    So.. how would you define 'absolute masterpiece'? What is your benchmark? What other albums would you consider an 'absolute masterpiece'? Personally, I like the album but can you honestly say there is absolutely nothing to fault about it? Is it really their most creative and inspiring work?

    Now... I didn't see any 'hater' in Dunk's post. He didn't say the album was rubbish or give a poor review of it (which I think is the main theme of this thread). He just said he did not think it was an 'absolute masterpiece', nothing more. His opinion, just like Black10 gave his/hers, just like you gave yours. Lots of people don't think it's an absolute masterpiece or a classic, whilst still really liking the album.

    Well obviously everyone has there own opinion as to what a "masterpiece" is but for me its quite simple, as far as Backspacer goes anyways..

    I listen to Backspacer from start to finish for 37 minutes. To me, it feels like those 37 minutes goes by in about 5 minutes. Thats how much enjoyment I get out of EVERY one of the songs. They fly by. There is not one song I skip over, like alot of other albums, and I fall in love with a different song every day. And when the second "The End" is done I cannot start the album over fast enough. To me, personally, that's my definition of a masterpiece.
