bramleyborn2 wrote:Cracking night and fantastic set list, wish I could go to the other shows. I thought from middle of the floor the sound was poor for the first half dozen songs or so but it was sorted out eventually.
I thought the sound was good from the start, from about the same position in the hall. It was just so much better than Wembley '07 (last show I attended).0 -
WOWOWWEEEEEEEEEEE....WHAT A NIGHT!!
I HAD TO RING MY T-SHIRT OUT 3 TIMES AT THE END....EEUUCH!
WAS STRANGELY DRAWN TO THE FRONT OF THE CROWD AND HAD AN AMAZING TIME.
HIGHLIGHT FOR ME WAS REARVIEW MIRROR, THE BREAKDOWN WAS JUST SUPERB, AND MIKES BEHIND THE BACK GUITAR SOLO....OH AND AMENT PLAYING GUITAR....OH AND AMENTS CHEQUERED BASS.
HAS ANYONE GOT ANY DECENT PHOTO'S? BOOTLEG HERE WE COME. I HAVE A COUPLE I'LL POST LATER BUT TIME FOR SOME SLEEP AFTER DRIVING BACK TO SCOTLAND AFTER THE GIG AND WORKING TODAY.
ENJOY TONIGHT.......THE BOYS ARE ON FORM.

On my way to the arena I was thinking about what song would really shock me...then i picked Present Tense.
And having realized that theyre playing it i got absolutely breathless...covered my face with my hands
Not to mention Save you rite after which is one of my alltimesbest
Now I'm still at home, but already have the "picked one" for this nite. We'll see!
Let's all have a great gig tonite!!!I am forever grateful to this band for giving us their ALL every single night and offering me such a wonderful gift - MUSIC, music that allows me to feel all that I want to feel, music that makes me strong in times of weakness, music that gives me joy in times of sorrow - SammieBlack0 -
Gomez, really enjoyed them, good stuff!

I think we all witnessed something special last night, even the 2 screens must have helped those fans up high in the proverbial 'gods'
One word describes PJ last night....
SUPERB!.....
This, despite the f*ck ups! Never seen Ed look so sheepish after he said 'I fucked up!'
Oh and was it bloody roasting or what?
Come back soon PJ for a full UK/European tour and not this part time effort!

The Rock wrote:The only other thing I'll mention is that there were some serious assholes in the crowd up front. Idiot guys who had no consideration for anyone, moshing completely out of control and swinging their arms and legs about like losers. I'm seriouly thinking about either getting seats or hanging back for my next show because it was nice to have a good view and lots of room to dance.
Sorry to hear that. I've been going to gigs at the MEN since '97, and I've never stood for any band. We had TC seats (block 102) and were no more than 20ft away from the stage. Enough room to stand up and dance too!
I stood up at Shepherds Bush, and my back was killing me afterwards!

Got to the front after the absolute disgrace of MEN's 'dis-organisation' of the early entry..but i soon forgot about that.
Gomez....i really enjoyed them, haven't heard em for years and i really appreciatted them...they now look like chemistry teachers rather than students ha!
What a atmosphere and set list, and how much are these guys enjoying playing at the moment???
Stone is enjoying his hair...mucho handbanging!...they energy of the band was 2nd to none, if everyone gets the same passion then no-one will be dissapointed.
What a setlist. full of so many great surprises...SOH..amazing...Last Exit, SMILE (!!!!!!), Real Me, In Hiding....i could list the whole set list!
heres a link to my pics..some blurred..but hey

Man, any cure for the downer that comes in the days after seeing two Pearl Jam gigs in a row? I'm utterly depressed today!Post edited by Bairbre onNo time to be void...or save up on life; you gotta spend it all...0

Plus on the crowd side of things....compared to Paris 06 it wasn't as bad...i wasn't as drenced when i came out and today i can walk!
We didn't appreciate some guys coming down the front pushing heavily on us on the rail, slightly 'overenjoying' themselves. One person sneakily squeezed into the spot the guy next to me had whilst he was being a good samaritan and helping security get rid of a bloody crowd surfer. what a nice fella eh?...i wudn't mind but he was absolutly out of it and looked like he was falling asleep...
we eventually combined and got rid of him and got the big guy's space back...happy days

Such an amazing gig in Manchester last night. Reminiscing about it all now with a glass of wine and the Immagine in Cornice DVD, whilst wishing I was down in London!
The whole evening was so memorable, a great set-list (they never cease to amaze, how unique each gig is!), Mike's Even Flow solo, the 'Uncle Eddie' story, the 69+1 woman ... when the lights came on at the end I wanted them to keep going ... an impromptu acoustic set in Manchester perhaps!
To all those that are seeing Pearl Jam in London, if it was half as good as last night, it will be something you will never forget.
Pearl Jam, come back soon ...0 -
Just echo everybody's thought about last night, I've seen PJ back in 2000 at the Wembley Arena but The MEN was something else.
Better sound, better set and all round just better. The night was a little soured by the fact my wife and myself kept having arrogant selfish people pushing in and blocking our view (thank god for the screens) and the constant amount of beer soaking us, maybe because I was stone cold sober as my Wife can't drink for personal reasons but I hate to say it but some people just can't bear to enjoy themselves without beer.
I have no problem with drinking but when they keep gong back and forth stamping on you and soaking you as they utterly out their faces. Maybe some people have to utterly mashed to enjoy the show, me I'd rather enjoy it concious.
This is likely to be an unpopular feeling on here on a forum where many people enjoy to be lubricated during a show but for me it will be the seats next time, yes I am too old for putting up with this kinda shit.
Having said that I thought it was just awesome, Present Tense was brilliant and RVM just unbelievable, the set list was just great and closing with Indifference was inspired. The Fixer & Get Some really sounded much better live.
Great Venue and would gladly return if they play here next year when they hopefully return
Ed, Stone, Jeff, Mike & Matt you guys rocked my world!
Thank you with all my heart for such an amazing night of music!0 -
I just wanted to say thank you for last night to both the band and the crew.
Went with my brother, his first show and he wasn't disappointed!
Great crowd and great show.
Here's to next time!

Was the crowd young or non Who fans because I felt I was the only one who exploded with joy that they did The Real Me. That just put the icing on an awesome gig. Ps MEN sort it out, if that had been a metal gig, folk would have died in there the heat was crazy0

BARBARA!!! INDEED!! DON'T IT MAKE YOU SMILE

I was with you in Spirit last night!! and I'll be there in person in a few weeks!!!!Exercising her will to lose control...

i totally agree. i cringe when i see someone coming down with beer.....most of the time people behave but you always get 'em. i never drink at gigs cos a)i want to remember everyhing the best i can and 2)im down the front and i ain't going to waste time pissing lager out when i need to be watching the show

Get the Quadraphenia album buddy.. Anyone who loves PJ should give The Who a listen! Eddie loves The Who and righty so. I'm probably considered an old man here @ 44yrs old but I still have more energy at gigs than most half my age. Songs like The Real Me have me bouncing like a kid again. Long live rock0 -
btw.. I agree that there's morons at gigs with no regards for others but for the people who want to stand inert in a mosh pit for 2 hours may I suggest try seating! These are rock concerts full of energy and not flower arranging exhibitions lol0

there ain't much chance of moshing at the front!..couldn't even move to scratch me nuts if i wanted to last night!haha..its just when groups of 'merry' fellas come down and try and put pressure on the people who have no where to go. Yeah don't mind people jumping, moshing, whatever but expect to get met with a defensive elbow in the ribs if you throw yerself at me when i'm on the rail ...i'm not really like that..honest
and yep..Quadraphenia...i've alreay text a mate of mine whos a massive who fan..cd is getting burnt as we speak
