The whole of Level 1 for 'industry/VIP/press/guests & those that tag along' seems excessive. It's about 300 seats, isn't it? Seems a lot. Wondering if some seats WILL surface eventually......
Hmm, 300 may sound a lot but having been to VIP Bob Dylan (which was pretty much the only perk of that job!!) I know over the couple of London dates, about that many staff went along. In terms of industry there are: promoters, bookers, record label, record publishing, management, band allocation, security and venue allocation, press and PR, distribution, radio, TV and that's just for starters. That could easily add up to 300 or so for a band as big as PJ. I'm going to do what I can do find out without peeing any of my remaining contacts off (not that I give a stuff what they think but some of them are friends and some have their uses when I'm trying to promote unsigned acts to them)
Sigh. Just how hard can it be for fans to see the darn band they like??!!
I guess I'm guilty as charged for buying of ebay, but it was for the 2007 Wembley after having missed out on Reading/Leeds and The Astoria gig and letting my membership expire due to having my second child. No excuse I know but I hadn't seen them since 2000 - 7 years is a long time when it could be another 7 years till they came back!!!
Never repeated and never will be.
Apology finished
there was spares for Wembley 07.. I ditched out about 7 (my 10c, plus 4 from 2 10c friends that preferred seats but had bought 10c to be safe, plus 2 seats I had bought to help those friends that got better ones themselves in the end) ...that's how I met JamieUK for example.
Someone from here is taking my Manchester spare and a friend of a friend my O2... SBE is more tricky but for an Arena size venue, there's no need to go to Ebay, certainly not for PJ.
Plus even if you're going the Ebay route, tickets seem to be always more expensive straight after the sale, then prices go down and stabilise... so never panic buy.. things turn out (like they seem to have for me and SBE, from strangers at that! PJ fans are the best )
Guess so goddess... I was just comparing to the number of 'VIPs' for the Astoria...
but the whole of the top section at the Vic was reserved for VIPs..that's more than Level 1 of SBE I think... it ended up nearly half full but they didn't release anything on the door probably because tehy're afarid of us pleb mixing with them
Admittedly, it was Ed's home town so lots of family/friends, but otoh there's far less industry people than in London.
Hi folks, following on from all the fine work that AD has done and all the good feeling going around this thread in sad times for alot of you. I got to wondering if you people would be willing to pool some money to buy a pair of tickets? I used the maths of £5 for 77 people, which is how many are listed as needing a ticket. If I can get 77 of you, regardless of whether you got a ticket or not, to donate £5 I will put the final £15 (which is sitting on my desk as I write this) in to buy a pair which would be raffled off. I thought it would just help to make a couple more of us happy for that night?
Anyways if anyone is interested in doing this, let us know in the thread.
Take care
I would happily donate to a pool of cash to get some of us in BUT only if we don't buy from Ebay rip off merchants :0
I hate them too but if we didnt buy some of them, other people will, I would still rather see 10c in there over others. If we raised enough cash to get a few tickets its better than nothing
DON'T FEED THE RATS!

if you want to pull together to fight them, lets chase the fuckers out of the patch, physically, on the day. including at the tube stations where they're sure to hang around.
Or denounce them to Ebay.. afaik the T&C of the tickets do include a not resell clause.. so any eBay/getmein/etc ticket is invalid and therefore illegal.

When I saw Chris Cornell there eariler this year, it was only the first section of seats on level 1 that were reserved for press industry. It is slightly dropped down from the main balcony, you can probably see it in some photos. The last glimmer of hope is that some section 1 tickets turn up on Ticketmaster or something, as has been rumoured.

Actually I just remembered something about this. Many years ago I had a VIP ticket for a gig at the SBE for a massive band and our industry tickets were seated on the left of Level 1. The only other industry seats were on the far right of Level 1 and then there was a tiny little box area on the right which was kind of a VIP holding area for the support band and friends / family of the main band. The rest of the seats, probably about 250 of them were defo for fans. I'm not saying this will be the case for PJ of course but ya never know, there may still be some seats to be released... < pulls very hopeful face and crosses all fingers and toes >
p.s Chris Cornell? I am now green with envy again, I somehow missed that he was playing!!

Yep you're spot on with that description, spookily in fact!! Behind both of the two VIP sections there is a small standing area for general admission people who don't want to sit, my fiancee and I end up standing here and overlooking the left-side VIP section. We could also see people coming and going through a "backstage" door that leads into the left-hand VIP section. All of the general admission seats are obviously in the central area of level 1. Put it this way, from my experience at the Cornell gig, I'd be very suprised if they've left the whole of level 1 for VIP / Press / Industry... more likely it will just be the normal VIP areas as described. This is little ol' England we're talking about.

LOL, yeah it's marked on my memory for the simple fact that when my boyfriend (of the time) came off stage he went into the holding area on the right and I was on the far left. I was quite drunk and had to walk all the way along the Level 1 seating area to get to him - for some reason I went along a row of seats rather than go down the stairs and out again and it was precarious, wobbly and very blurry!! I am lucky not to have tipped off it due to lack of balance!!

For once, I agree with you Sandra. The only reason Scalpers stay alive is because people buy from them. If no one helps them make a profit, then we would not have this problem. Of course easier said then done, but more people should resist the urge to pay outrageous money for these shows. YOU WILL GET INTO THE SHOW!

I actually came on this board and I think to see if anyone wanted my spare for the show at the Scala in London. A venue about as big as my front room!
That Scala show completely sucked to be fair... he played his new album from start to finish, then just 4 "old" songs as an encore. It was painful. I also had a spare I couldn't get rid of, so ended up wasting even more money than I needed to. On the other hand, the SBE show was fan-feckin-tastic.

It was a great performance but it wasn't my cup of tea. I heard the Shepherd's Bush show was far better. Not happy I chose the Scala. Him being late sucked too with recording a TV show!
Rock on!!!!
Seen Pearl Jam 4 times in London, once in Manchester, as well as an Eddie show at Hammersmith.
Hi everyone. This is what I received today from the Agent's Association - I'm going to look at the links they have provided and by all means, go ahead and do so too. I'll post this on all the threads we have discussed it on:
Dear Beverly
I am very sorry but we are not able to help directly with your problem.
The government department that deals with matters concerning ticketing/ticket touts etc is the Department for Culture, Media & Sport web homepage: www.dcms.gov.uk
You can email a query via that website if you wish.
You could also try the Concert Promoters Association in the first instance as I am sure they will be able to advise you on this matter.

I sold my ticket when I found out it was going to be Scream in its entirety. For various reasons, didn't do SB... but we are getting off topic!
I got a reply to my mail from 10c and thought maybe people would like to have this shared with you ....
We are sorry you were not able to get tickets through the Ten Club lottery. As you can imagine the tickets were incredibly limited and we had thousands of entries for this lottery. HMV’s pre-sale did not start at 9, it started at 12, so this likely why you did not see the tickets available at 9.
Best regards,
10c
I also thought you might be interested to read the reply ...
Thank you for the email.
You said you "had thousands of entries for this lottery". Thousands ? How many UK / Ireland Ten Club members are there ? As far as I knew the figure didn't run into 'thousands' ? Are you in a position to be able to say how many tickets you actually did distribute in the lottery ?
You also mentioned that "HMV’s pre-sale did not start at 9, it started at 12" - why did Ten Club not mention that. In fact tickets were not on sale at 12, they only seem to have gone on sale at 3.30pm. A visit to the Forums will bare testament to that.
I am going to presume that you will know of HMVs Terms and Conditions for the Presale that began before your lottery. If one made a pre order for BackSpacer then we would be sent a 'unique link' to the preorder website. Are you aware that HMV broke those terms and conditions and made tickets available to everyone who visited their site on Monday morning ? The 'unique link' that was promised to people who made a prorder received nothing of the sort. Is Ten Club aware of this ? Is there anything that can be done.
Of course this was going to be a hugely over subscribed event and there were going to be many disappointed people. But this situation has been exacerbated by HMVs appauling organisation. We feel ripped off, conned and short changed. On a personal note I feel particularly short changed when you can't answer the questions in my mail that many Ten Clubbers are asking.
"If I knew where it was I would take you there ... there's much more than this"

Those are some strange numbers being thrown around. Exactly what pre-sale are they claiming started at 12? That is totally random. As for thousands of entries... the 10C numbers would have had to swell considerably over the past several years for that to be true. I wouldn't expect any specifics on the actual number or ticket allotment. That's just not gonna happen.
HMV’s pre-sale did not start at 9, it started at 12, so this likely why you did not see the tickets available at 9.
Maybe they are just a bit confused with time difference. Or maybe the person who replied on the e-mail got a bit confused between the deadline for ordering and the pre-sale time.

The pre-sale? It did start at 9.00am, possibly even a few minutes earlier.....
Are you aware that HMV broke those terms and conditions and made tickets available to everyone who visited their site on Monday morning ?

For real? Because when my boss who was trying with me went via the 'normal' route, refreshing at the same time as me, he couldn't get through (this was the 'few minutes earlier') when I could via the link....
Too confusing.
Not sure if 10C could really do anything about this.... The info about their lottery and the HMV offer was correct (ie, buy a CD, get a link).... Whether 10C wish to disclose the 'finer details' when it comes to numbers, it is probably a business decision...

I only saw the order page once, and that was via the HMV Tickets website rather than the link, so yes, it would appear that it would have been possible for anyone to access and buy tickets.
The secret to a happy ending is knowing when to roll the credits
There will always be tickets available on the door... this is becasue so many are allocated to press, publicists ect that thery have to be reserved.. however when these do not show they wil be released ..it happens at virtually every gig you go to.
I do suggest if you live in london to go down and try. But I imagine they will be very limited and their will be a specific Q for these.
It is always worth a shout.
On another note I have written so many letters to e-bay of complaits on touts and over pricing of tickets. They really do not care as they make far too much moeny off sellign tickets on e-bay.
I do not disagree with the selling of tickets on here.. ONLY when you genuinly cannot go and sell them at a buy it now fixed rate. I think they should have some form of regulation that only allows these to be sold as a buy it now and only be able to charge 2-3% over the cost in order to cover your e-bay listing and cost for pay pal.
I hope some poeple who dotn have ticket get them .. I am trying to get one for a friend who missed out on the HMV, Lotto and general sale.

Do you reckon it's worth showing up as early as possible, or just turning up at the very last minute (ie when the show actually starts)?

For once, I agree with you Sandra. The only reason Scalpers stay alive is because people buy from them. If no one helps them make a profit, then we would not have this problem. Of course easier said then done, but more people should resist the urge to pay outrageous money for these shows. YOU WILL GET INTO THE SHOW!
Thats very easy to say when you have a ticket. I can't stand touts aswell but I can't miss this gig.
I spent £150 for a level 2 ticket. Do I regret it? No fuckin way.
Have you seen what they are going for?
Now as Pegasus was saying you wouldn't need to go to a tout for an arena show. The SBE is different.

I actually came on this board and I think to see if anyone wanted my spare for the show at the Scala in London. A venue about as big as my front room!
Seen Pearl Jam 4 times in London, once in Manchester, as well as an Eddie show at Hammersmith.

I hope this is of help to you.

I sold my ticket when I found out it was going to be Scream in its entirety. For various reasons, didn't do SB... but we are getting off topic!

Maybe they are just a bit confused with time difference. Or maybe the person who replied on the e-mail got a bit confused between the deadline for ordering and the pre-sale time.
The pre-sale? It did start at 9.00am, possibly even a few minutes earlier.....

I am trying to get one for a friend who missed out on the HMV, Lotto and general sale.
..
Do you reckon it's worth showing up as early as possible, or just turning up at the very last minute (ie when the show actually starts)?
