I actually came on this board and I think to see if anyone wanted my spare for the show at the Scala in London. A venue about as big as my front room!
That Scala show completely sucked to be fair... he played his new album from start to finish, then just 4 "old" songs as an encore. It was painful. I also had a spare I couldn't get rid of, so ended up wasting even more money than I needed to. On the other hand, the SBE show was fan-feckin-tastic.
It was a great performance but it wasn't my cup of tea. I heard the Shepherd's Bush show was far better. Not happy I chose the Scala. Him being late sucked too with recording a TV show!Rock on!!!!

Hi everyone. This is what I received today from the Agent's Association - I'm going to look at the links they have provided and by all means, go ahead and do so too. I'll post this on all the threads we have discussed it on:
Dear Beverly
I am very sorry but we are not able to help directly with your problem.
The government department that deals with matters concerning ticketing/ticket touts etc is the Department for Culture, Media & Sport web homepage: www.dcms.gov.uk
You can email a query via that website if you wish.
You could also try the Concert Promoters Association in the first instance as I am sure they will be able to advise you on this matter.

I hope this is of help to you.

I sold my ticket when I found out it was going to be Scream in its entirety. For various reasons, didn't do SB... but we are getting off topic!0 -
I got a reply to my mail from 10c and thought maybe people would like to have this shared with you ....We are sorry you were not able to get tickets through the Ten Club lottery. As you can imagine the tickets were incredibly limited and we had thousands of entries for this lottery. HMV’s pre-sale did not start at 9, it started at 12, so this likely why you did not see the tickets available at 9.
Best regards,
10c
I also thought you might be interested to read the reply ...Thank you for the email.
You said you "had thousands of entries for this lottery". Thousands ? How many UK / Ireland Ten Club members are there ? As far as I knew the figure didn't run into 'thousands' ? Are you in a position to be able to say how many tickets you actually did distribute in the lottery ?
You also mentioned that "HMV’s pre-sale did not start at 9, it started at 12" - why did Ten Club not mention that. In fact tickets were not on sale at 12, they only seem to have gone on sale at 3.30pm. A visit to the Forums will bare testament to that.
I am going to presume that you will know of HMVs Terms and Conditions for the Presale that began before your lottery. If one made a pre order for BackSpacer then we would be sent a 'unique link' to the preorder website. Are you aware that HMV broke those terms and conditions and made tickets available to everyone who visited their site on Monday morning ? The 'unique link' that was promised to people who made a prorder received nothing of the sort. Is Ten Club aware of this ? Is there anything that can be done.
Of course this was going to be a hugely over subscribed event and there were going to be many disappointed people. But this situation has been exacerbated by HMVs appauling organisation. We feel ripped off, conned and short changed. On a personal note I feel particularly short changed when you can't answer the questions in my mail that many Ten Clubbers are asking."If I knew where it was I would take you there ... there's much more than this"

Those are some strange numbers being thrown around. Exactly what pre-sale are they claiming started at 12? That is totally random. As for thousands of entries... the 10C numbers would have had to swell considerably over the past several years for that to be true. I wouldn't expect any specifics on the actual number or ticket allotment. That's just not gonna happen. My Pearl Jam Photos

Maybe they are just a bit confused with time difference. Or maybe the person who replied on the e-mail got a bit confused between the deadline for ordering and the pre-sale time. You also mentioned that "HMV’s pre-sale did not start at 9, it started at 12" - why did Ten Club not mention that. The pre-sale? It did start at 9.00am, possibly even a few minutes earlier.....Are you aware that HMV broke those terms and conditions and made tickets available to everyone who visited their site on Monday morning ?
For real? Because when my boss who was trying with me went via the 'normal' route, refreshing at the same time as me, he couldn't get through (this was the 'few minutes earlier') when I could via the link....
Too confusing.
Not sure if 10C could really do anything about this.... The info about their lottery and the HMV offer was correct (ie, buy a CD, get a link).... Whether 10C wish to disclose the 'finer details' when it comes to numbers, it is probably a business decision...0 -

I only saw the order page once, and that was via the HMV Tickets website rather than the link, so yes, it would appear that it would have been possible for anyone to access and buy tickets. The secret to a happy ending is knowing when to roll the credits0 -
There will always be tickets available on the door... this is becasue so many are allocated to press, publicists ect that thery have to be reserved.. however when these do not show they wil be released ..it happens at virtually every gig you go to.
I do suggest if you live in london to go down and try. But I imagine they will be very limited and their will be a specific Q for these.
It is always worth a shout.
On another note I have written so many letters to e-bay of complaits on touts and over pricing of tickets. They really do not care as they make far too much moeny off sellign tickets on e-bay.
I do not disagree with the selling of tickets on here.. ONLY when you genuinly cannot go and sell them at a buy it now fixed rate. I think they should have some form of regulation that only allows these to be sold as a buy it now and only be able to charge 2-3% over the cost in order to cover your e-bay listing and cost for pay pal.
I hope some poeple who dotn have ticket get them .. I am trying to get one for a friend who missed out on the HMV, Lotto and general sale.

Do you reckon it's worth showing up as early as possible, or just turning up at the very last minute (ie when the show actually starts)?0 -
I dont know.. but I would say early as there maybe a Q for release of these.. its not guaranteed people wil not show as a small show and big band but if I dont not have one I would deffinately give it a go. Doors open at 6:30 so I would say maybe get there for 5ish.. of just before box office closes... so in that case if anyone does not how to pick up tickets you may get 1st refusal.
Hope you get some....0 -
Thanks for the advice DanniC. I live very close to Shepherd's Bush so I'm tempted to give it a go. Might be a dull (and frustrating!) few hours but how often does your favourite band play in your backyard?!0

Bullshit reply from HMV:
Thank you for your response in relation to the Pearl Jam pre-sale ticket offer.
In view of comments from customers, we would like to confirm that we have verified transactions with our ticketing provider, and in accordance with the time on their servers, no orders were processed for the Pearl Jam ticket offer before 9am. As previously stated, any issues experienced were due to the popularity of the offer, and the volume of people trying to purchase tickets.
I would also like to confirm that every customer who pre-ordered the Pearl Jam CD were sent an individual link.
We would like to assure you that we are taking all feedback from customers seriously, and will be addressing any issues with our ticketing partner to ensure that future ticket promotions with major bands run smoothly.
Kind Regards,
Andrew Cherrett

You're right it should be fun, and I think there should be quite a few from these forums giving it a try. Only downside is that 99% of people there will be happy with a ticket.
Must make sure I'm not tempted to go down with too much cash in my pocket0 -
Hi ,
Like everybody else I'm looking for a ticket to the shepards bush gig.
I can offer a ticket to the manchester and the london o2 as a straight swap or buy at face value. I've been on various ticket tout sites and they are asking for crazy money so I can't go down that avenue.
I live in Dublin and have to factor in a flight and hotel as well so any early replies would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Ken
I'm not sure what it is called but if you look back to the list of topics, (I think it's listed in a previous post too) there is a new thread started for those who need tickets for SBE, so add your name to that too :-)0 -

We could be hanging around SBE for about four hours and not get a ticket. I honestly can't get there any earlier than 5ish so we shall see how that works out. I will take a set amount of money for a spare ticket and will not go above that.
It's completley soul destroying to see prices of this gig being 'touted' around, especially when you got booted out of the HMV pre sale after putting in my card details. £300 for a ticket, plus 15-25% charges on these 'fan ticket exchange' sites is appaling. It makes me lose all faith in humanity.
Seeing the lottery which happened on here was really good, how real PJ fans gave real PJ fans spares. I only just missed out on that but some people are just out for a quick buck. I couldn't care less about the 02 gig anymore which I am going to. I have never wanted a ticket for a gig more than this but I just can't afford the prices being asked. It's all very sad.
I had Michael Jackson tickets but a business colleague really wanted to see him, I sold them to him face value and recently posted the money back for the refund. But then again we all can't be like that. There's a market out there and unfortunately the real fans are the ones who miss out.Rock on!!!!
