Hmm, 300 may sound a lot but having been to VIP Bob Dylan (which was pretty much the only perk of that job!!) I know over the couple of London dates, about that many staff went along. In terms of industry there are: promoters, bookers, record label, record publishing, management, band allocation, security and venue allocation, press and PR, distribution, radio, TV and that's just for starters. That could easily add up to 300 or so for a band as big as PJ. I'm going to do what I can do find out without peeing any of my remaining contacts off (not that I give a stuff what they think but some of them are friends and some have their uses when I'm trying to promote unsigned acts to them)

Sigh. Just how hard can it be for fans to see the darn band they like??!!

    To Pegasus,

    Fair Point.

I guess I'm guilty as charged for buying of ebay, but it was for the 2007 Wembley after having missed out on Reading/Leeds and The Astoria gig and letting my membership expire due to having my second child. No excuse I know but I hadn't seen them since 2000 - 7 years is a long time when it could be another 7 years till they came back!!!:cry:

Never repeated and never will be.

    Apology finished
there was spares for Wembley 07.. I ditched out about 7 (my 10c, plus 4 from 2 10c friends that preferred seats but had bought 10c to be safe, plus 2 seats I had bought to help those friends that got better ones themselves in the end) ...that's how I met JamieUK for example.
Someone from here is taking my Manchester spare and a friend of a friend my O2... SBE is more tricky but for an Arena size venue, there's no need to go to Ebay, certainly not for PJ.

Plus even if you're going the Ebay route, tickets seem to be always more expensive straight after the sale, then prices go down and stabilise... so never panic buy.. things turn out (like they seem to have for me and SBE, from strangers at that! PJ fans are the best 8-) )

but the whole of the top section at the Vic was reserved for VIPs..that's more than Level 1 of SBE I think... it ended up nearly half full but they didn't release anything on the door probably because tehy're afarid of us pleb mixing with them
Admittedly, it was Ed's home town so lots of family/friends, but otoh there's far less industry people than in London.

Hi folks, following on from all the fine work that AD has done and all the good feeling going around this thread in sad times for alot of you. I got to wondering if you people would be willing to pool some money to buy a pair of tickets? I used the maths of £5 for 77 people, which is how many are listed as needing a ticket. If I can get 77 of you, regardless of whether you got a ticket or not, to donate £5 I will put the final £15 (which is sitting on my desk as I write this) in to buy a pair which would be raffled off. I thought it would just help to make a couple more of us happy for that night?

Anyways if anyone is interested in doing this, let us know in the thread.

    Take care

I would happily donate to a pool of cash to get some of us in BUT only if we don't buy from Ebay rip off merchants :0

I hate them too but if we didnt buy some of them, other people will, I would still rather see 10c in there over others. If we raised enough cash to get a few tickets its better than nothing

    DON'T FEED THE RATS!
I will not say it enough: we wouldn't have that problem if people didn't buy from them.
    just don't!

if you want to pull together to fight them, lets chase the fuckers out of the patch, physically, on the day. including at the tube stations where they're sure to hang around.

Or denounce them to Ebay.. afaik the T&C of the tickets do include a not resell clause.. so any eBay/getmein/etc ticket is invalid and therefore illegal.

ANGRY MOB OF ROCK FANS ATTACK TOUTS!
GOVERNMENT PROMISES TO STAMP OUT TICKET SALES.

I can see the headline in the Daily Mail now (probably claiming the touts were benefit fraudsters).
Personally, I think it has more legs as an idea than writing someone a letter.
Call the press before, tell 'em your gonna do it and you'd be guaranteed and audience!

Just don't cause such a ruck that you get the show cancelled, please....
we're all going to the same place...

When I saw Chris Cornell there eariler this year, it was only the first section of seats on level 1 that were reserved for press industry. It is slightly dropped down from the main balcony, you can probably see it in some photos. The last glimmer of hope is that some section 1 tickets turn up on Ticketmaster or something, as has been rumoured.

Actually I just remembered something about this. Many years ago I had a VIP ticket for a gig at the SBE for a massive band and our industry tickets were seated on the left of Level 1. The only other industry seats were on the far right of Level 1 and then there was a tiny little box area on the right which was kind of a VIP holding area for the support band and friends / family of the main band. The rest of the seats, probably about 250 of them were defo for fans. I'm not saying this will be the case for PJ of course but ya never know, there may still be some seats to be released... < pulls very hopeful face and crosses all fingers and toes >

p.s Chris Cornell? I am now green with envy again, I somehow missed that he was playing!!

Yep you're spot on with that description, spookily in fact!! Behind both of the two VIP sections there is a small standing area for general admission people who don't want to sit, my fiancee and I end up standing here and overlooking the left-side VIP section. We could also see people coming and going through a "backstage" door that leads into the left-hand VIP section. All of the general admission seats are obviously in the central area of level 1. Put it this way, from my experience at the Cornell gig, I'd be very suprised if they've left the whole of level 1 for VIP / Press / Industry... more likely it will just be the normal VIP areas as described. This is little ol' England we're talking about.

LOL, yeah it's marked on my memory for the simple fact that when my boyfriend (of the time) came off stage he went into the holding area on the right and I was on the far left. I was quite drunk and had to walk all the way along the Level 1 seating area to get to him - for some reason I went along a row of seats rather than go down the stairs and out again and it was precarious, wobbly and very blurry!! I am lucky not to have tipped off it due to lack of balance!!

For once, I agree with you Sandra. The only reason Scalpers stay alive is because people buy from them. If no one helps them make a profit, then we would not have this problem. Of course easier said then done, but more people should resist the urge to pay outrageous money for these shows. YOU WILL GET INTO THE SHOW!

Thats very easy to say when you have a ticket. I can't stand touts aswell but I can't miss this gig.
I spent £150 for a level 2 ticket. Do I regret it? No fuckin way.
Have you seen what they are going for?

Now as Pegasus was saying you wouldn't need to go to a tout for an arena show. The SBE is different.

i understand and im in for 100%the only problem is if the show is not in the country and you travel u have to book all.And people feel unsecure if the dont have ticket, and u have to book early for find cheap flights.
Exable: My spare for Berlin i give it to a woman from Estonia. She ask me one more for her boyfriend,i say to her wait we will find.and She say ill buy it from ebay couse she find some there, after 2 days i find her from Barbara a spare.Send a mail and answer she go to ebay and pay it 126 euros!!!!!she didnt wait 2 days,,only couse she want to book hotels and flights she want to be sure with the ticket. And usally not 10c members go to ebay,The 10c memebers knows and search here or in bugs or in facebook, and all ok,the non 10c members go to ebay.and pay the thieves

That Scala show completely sucked to be fair... he played his new album from start to finish, then just 4 "old" songs as an encore. It was painful. I also had a spare I couldn't get rid of, so ended up wasting even more money than I needed to. On the other hand, the SBE show was fan-feckin-tastic.
