This is a great idea but I'm having trouble understanding with the site though... I selected the Millenium Park box, 4-star, then bid $60 but I have to give my credit card info BEFORE it will let me know what's available for that particular Hyatt Regency? What if my bid is accepted but it's for another hotel?
Unfortunately, that's the risk you take. If you take a look though, there's only three four star hotels in Millenium Park area, so your odds are pretty high, especially when you consider the fact that no one here has been put anywhere else, and the fact that the hotel has over 2,000 rooms.

Fair enough. Even if I don't get into the Hyatt, the other hotels would probably still good for $60/night!

What happens if they don't accept my offer? Will my card still be charged for a higher amount?
Nope - if they reject you, your card doesn't get charged at all, and you won't be allowed to book a room for 24 hours, at which point you can try again.

  • If anyone is coming from Buffalo, I can offer a ride to the Hyatt!!

Would love some extra help with gas $$$

Makes much more sense to live in the Present Tense.

  • Put another name on that list. Sunday night for sure and maybe Monday as well. I'm blown away by the amount of fans staying in one building, very cool. I remember waiting in line for Vegas 03 tickets and meeting maybe a dozed or two dozen fans, but nothing like this.

I also feel like we should rent out some conference rooms and hold a pearl jam conference. Different people presenting on different pearl jam related topics. i know there could be a good panel discussion on which drummer is pearl jam's best :)

    Looking forward to August.

I was thinking, though I know this would be near impossible to plan, but for those of us who play instruments, how freaking cool would it be to organize a jam somewhere equipped with some basic instruments? (Guitar, bass, mic, keyboard maybe, drums)

  • Wow guys, thank you so much for this tip! I got my 6 night hotel stay for only $65/night! I was expecting to pay almost double that. And it's so cool to have that many PJ fans under one roof. Add me + my bf (not sure of his user name here... he's not much of a message poster).

Hubby and I are staying here too. He's not a fan and he keeps teasing me saying he will dress as Mr. Spock and every time he sees a person wearing a Pearl Jam shirt he will ask them which way the Star Trek convention is. Then if anyone mentions anything about the UC shows, he'll go "OMG! There are Pearl Jam shows too? That's freaking awesome!"
I'm just letting y'all know in advance.

I'm driving in from Detroit. Is it true that the Hyatt is asking for 48 dollars a night parking???? WTF if true. Any garages close by to park?

there is another thread discussing the parking situation. I found a site that lists parking garages around the hotel. I'm not sure how much they are. I will be calling a few of them closer to the date to see if we find one with a decent price.

also, add corduroy10 to the list of people staying at the hotel

    Whats the parking thread?
I just called Amtrak because they do overnight parking. Early bird rate is Monday through Friday. 19.99 flat rate. hope that helps out some people. (not me though!)
