    Just because a guy is "admiring a pass" doesn't mean you can just make up your own rules. He's not fair game if he doesn't have the puck. They made the right call. It was interference, and it was late. It was late because if Brown was hitting him while he was "admiring" his pass, it had to be pretty obvious he didn't have the puck anymore, because he was watching it go down the ice.
    And as for watching the Wings, it's fine with me if you don't want to watch. But you should get used to them being on. They're going to be playing all spring and well into the summer.

    OK I thought the hit was late on Hudler. I thought it was a cheaper hit meaning the pass was made and Hudler wasn't jumping into the play. Hudler was admiring his pass and that is his fault so punishment was fair. But I think the bigger issue should be on that play is "is it OK to purposely hurt a guy just because you can?" Now if Hudler still had the puck on his stick I'd say totally different play, I'd have said it was a beautiful hit in that situation. But it was long gone and Brown knew it.

    Another question - "What if he did that to Cindy Crosby"? What would be his punishment then?

    Going to watch another Vancouver win tonight I hope :)

    Really? Rulebook references? That was a classic example of one player finishing his check and another player not keeping his head up. If that was late, then 90% of all bodychecks are late. How many hits do you see when the player that is getting hit actually has possession of the puck?

    holy crap, just got in from golfing and turned on the tv to watch the poker heads up tourny and the Detroit/Anaheim game is still on... In the 2nd OT right now with about 2 minutes left... how good has this game been?
    Can't wait for the Bruins to take a 2-0 series lead tonight aswell :)

    Great game. Anaheim has really stepped up to the challenge.
    They made some great moves at the end of the season, and are playing much better than a No. 8 seed. Should make for some great games next week.

    Have you ever played hockey before? He got a penalty only because Hudler was hurt. No rule was broken as you are allowed to finish your checks on a player who just passed the puck.

    Heard the Wings game today was really good. Too bad I was flying home and missed it.

    FYI I checked out that rule 56 that you quoted and this kind of jumped out at me:

    Possession of the Puck:

    The last player to touch the puck, other than the goalkeeper, shall be considered the player in possession. The player deemed in possession of the puck may be checked legally, provided the check is rendered immediately following his loss of possession.

    ya i saw the ending in the 3rd OT, incredible. Anaheim is playing much better than an 8 seeded team and are going to give Detroit a good run in this series. I still have Detroit winning in 6 games but could see The Ducks possibly pulling it out somehow.
    Too bad about Boston tonight, down by 2 goals and got lucky by having another Hurricans goal waved off "for not going all the way over the goal line". After watching the replay it really looked like that was a goal for sure. Paul Maurice and the boys have to be a little pissed.

    The Ducks are the real deal. I picked Detroit in 6 too, so I'm kind of chomping at the bit for tomorrow's game. Even though I hate games on the West coast, stupid 10pm starts. I took Wednesday off of work so I don't have to worry about waking up early. You know, just in case it goes to 3OTs again. :D
