It's not like Malkin doesn't get away with a lot of dirty shit anyway.

Not that dirty. And if he does get away with dirty play I guess now we know why. Maybe it will be the new trend of the nhl. Superstars kneeing each other with no real punishment.

I thought it was pretty funny reading about Ovechkin complaining about not getting any lucky breaks. I would think not being suspended was pretty lucky. But once again there was no luck involved since fans would have to be crazy to think the mighty O could ever be suspended.

Of course when O was talking about no lucky breaks he may have meant something entirely different. We would have to ask songburst about that.

I love homer hockey fans. They make me laugh.

Malkin slew footed 2 different Rangers last year and nothing was called

If this knee/knee was Crosby or Malkin its not a suspension either !

Pens fans crying about calls when the 2 players on the Pens get more calls then any 2 in the league

He can be, without question, just as dirty, and if he gets away with it, shouldn't that be the reason Ovechkin does, not the other way around?

Wings and Ducks underway! Franzen hits the inside of the post just 20 seconds in! Looks like this one is going to be intense.

No doubt he can be dirty... he has slewfooted a few guys in the past, and will thrown an elbow on occasion. It seems like he does his crap out of frustration. Ovechkin is just reckless with the charging and this Gonchar hit was just as reckless... I'm not saying that one is worse than the other, but I think over their careers, Ovechkin is going to injure a lot more people than Malkin will.

    0-0 after first period.
    Detroit is outshooting Anaheim 14-3.
Hit two posts, but couldn't find the back of the net.

Dominating performance by the Wings tonight.
    Out shot Anaheim 38-17.
Osgood answered the call with some steady work
I was particularly happy to see Zetterberg,Datsyuk, and Holmstrom together again.
    This team is deep.
Last trip out west for the rest of the playoffs on Tuesday.(wouldn't that be nice).
    Sorry Vancouver.

    On another note.
I was surprised to see Ward stand there like a dope while Walker hit him with a good right.
You gotta be ready in this league.
Sucker punch for sure but it looked like he could of a least moved a little.

Right call on the instigator, but Ward should have defended himself at least.

I've watched the replays and it happened pretty quick. Ward was locked up with Cullen and in flys Walker. Like 2-3 seconds later he puches Ward....I'm just hoping this pisses off the Bruins where they kick the Canes ass the next 2 games.

Yeah it was quick, but still plenty of time to defend in some fashion. Fights start like that all the time (see: Lucic) but it's rare to see someone pull the deer-in-the-headlights move.

I don't know...If Ward and Walker were going back n forth for a few seconds maybe, but the only way he could have defended himself was to immediately cover his face when Walker jumps in (looks stupid if Walker doesn't throw a punch) or immediately throw the first punch. There are a lot of scrums in front of the net that don't escalate into a punch being thrown. There was nothing there that indicated a "fight" was going to incur.

The drop of the gloves didn't indicate it? He dropped the gloves, grabbed him, and punched, and not all in one motion, and all the while Ward just stood there and watched him. He could have gotten his hands up, or moved his head down.

There was no 'agreement to fight' from Ward, that is true. That scenario is another debate altogether, although it is the real reason Walker was suspended. Other than that we'll have to agree to disagree.

I'd say Ward got the short end of the stick on that one.

The Capitals in Overtime as a team are abysmal. Give the Pens hell anyway.
