    "Let him masturbate in bed"

    Compared to

"And there is no god with a plan"

    From Sad.

How I'm hearing this is beyond me.
    Thanks EPOTTSIII!

  • That's completely brilliant; thanks for posting it :D

I showed it to my husband and he nearly died laughing (I think he especially liked 'potato wave'). However, I have given him more ammo by doing this because he's always taking the piss out of how indecipherable Pearl Jam lyrics are - d'oh! His Eddie Vedder impression is evil: all lounge-singery, slurred words and nonsense. His life is permanently in danger because of this.

A friend of mine thought the lyrics to Daughter were, 'my beige, old cat will remind me' and my Mother thought he was singing, 'don't call me Doris'. One of my best friends thought that Faithful was a song about lizards: 'geckos, nobody hears...'

    GreenDay's "Basket case"

"I am on of those melodramatic fools"

    or.....?

"I am one of those miraculous magic bulls"

    :)
I wish I was the verb To Trust and never let you down.

I can only be as good as you let me.

Sometimes life just won't leave you alone.
  • I had this friend Trevor growing up who would sing the Ace of Base song " All that she wants..." and he'd say, All that she wants is to have my baby"

He was positive it really said that. And aerosmith, " Dude look like a lady"
He'd always say, " Do the lucky lady" ... Not very lucky if they knew Trevor

So on first hearing Alive, and for a long time after, I thought 'but I'm glad we talked' was 'but I'm playing guitar'.

    :D

Although embarassed when I first figured out how wrong I was, I now can't help but laugh and still hear it in my head pretty much every time. I always thought it didn't quite make sense, thinking it would have done had it been the son in the song saying that rather than the mother. Kind of like 'yeah this sucks, but... I'M PLAYING GUITAR, so that's an escape and I'm still alive and all that' or something.

    Deary me.

Up until two years ago I honest to god thought that song 74/75 was

    "74/75, I was sorry as a rapter"

Why I don't know..........needless to say my friends had a field day on that one

  • Okay, this is my first post ever, and I am so glad I am not the only one that misheard Black!

"her legs spread out before me as her body lifted"

and also, I always heard "all five horizons" as " all those viborasms"

My husband says I just have a perverted mind

And, "I know you'll be a sun in someone else's sky"

There are so many that you all have listed here already:
    "Fucking circles"
"What the fuck did this world, running to you did it, leave a message at least I'll cuddle in your voice once last time"
"Evenflow come to her like butterflies"
"Girlfriend, he can't help when he's happy he looks insane"
"Everything has changed, absolutely nothing's changed"
"I don't remember anything to this very day, but the love, the love"

Oh, there are probably lots more, but those are the worst one's I can think of!
    Underneath this smile lies everything
all my hopes, anger, pride and shame

For a long time, I used to think in Corduroy, Ed said...

"Everything has changed, Absolutely nothings changed"

Which I still think is a better lyric, Haha. Actually, it was sort of like a line that me and a girlfriend in HS used to say alot, or attribute to our relationship, and she discovered that we had it wrong, but she was scared to tell me I think because she thought it was upset me, than when I found out, I told her, and she was like, "yeah, i knew, but i didn't want to tell you"

I cant stp laughing! What a funny bunch of people we are, love this thread!
Well, my cousin and I used to try and write the lyrics down so we could sing along to all the pj songs and we came up with this for " Jeremy spoke in class today"...."Jeremys smoking...plastic" . But you know, maybe he was? And even now, its still hard for me to sing Even Flow without singing " Rests his head on a FELLOW made of concrete". My mum used to think silverchairs lyrics for Pure Massacre were "Steel matchie car". Haha!

    Hahaha.

I always heard.. "Jeremy has spoken ... at last today... " 8-)

    Nice threat this one
