    ok I guess its a conspiracy then that only the Patriots were penalized for cheating. If everyone else was doing it why wasn't anyone else fined? and why was Belli-cheat's fine the largest ever handed down? Can you please explain that to me?

    and how do you know it didn't make a differnence? Its not like all 3 super bowls were blowouts. couldn't have the cheating made a few points difference? yes its possible, maybe thats why the NFL destroyed all evidence so no one could truly find out that the Pats stole 3 titles.

    I came into this thread because I saw you posted Simmons article - I was commenting on the article and the attitude that prevails in the article and amongst Pats fans . Should I have started a whole new thread for it then?

    So you think the official's were right on those calls specifically listed? That was a terrible game from the ref's. No doubt about it.

    not at all, never said it wasn't a terribly officiated game. Just was commenting on the attitude of Mr. Simmons and what seems to be most Pats fans attitudes.

    I'm just curious, were you this worked up when the Broncos were fined 968,000 and 2 third round draft picks for deferring John Elway and Terrell Davis's salaries from 96-98 so that they could sneak more players in under the cap on the teams that won back to back Super Bowls?

    And trust me I dislike the Pats, but the officiating was really one sided on Sunday.

    nope for two reasons - number one the Broncos fans (as far as I know, didn't have the access to them that we now have to other teams fans) didn't shrug off their indiscretions with "everyone does it" like the Pats fans seem to be doing. Also you can't tell me you don't find it very hypocritcal for Pats fans to shrug off their cheating, yet on monday they were all bitching about supposed piped in noise and Brady's headset not working.

    2nd reason - the Broncos didn't beat my team in a Super Bowl like the Pats did. is it tainted now - I don't know, but I'd sure as hell like to know if they cheated the Eagles - hard not to believe they didn't.

    Pats got caught doing something against the league rules, it's been proven. I openly admit that ... it sucks, I wish they didn't but they did.

    But they were fined. The league ruled on this. If they felt it was something that tainted the Pats win over the Eagles, or anyone else for that matter, they would have. But obviously, it wasn't that serious because they didn't take back any wins, don't want to asterisk anything ...

    Except fpr the fact that the eagles did better in the second half than the 1st. So I doubt they were stealing calls.

    i think sports guy is just being his same old boston sports loving fan self and taking issue with the numerous horrible calls that went against the pats because it has not been talked about AT ALL. it makes no sense why the league did not have a veteran ref for the game.

    all i heard after the game was over - all week - from the sports media is "well the colts didn't have harrison and ugoh and other players..." to use a weak excuse. the pats played 60 mins and the colts did not.

    actually the game was 7-7 at half, so the 2nd half the Pats actually outscored the Eagles 17-14 so I guess the Pats did better in the 2nd half. if your going to comment at least know your facts.

    btw I live in Boston but the Pats are my second team. I was brought up a Redskins fan, and have no problem with the Pats ass whooping of my skins. The eagles? Let's just say that if Reid could coach and McNabb could keep it together in a 2 minute drill Philly might have a Super Bowl ring.
