Twin Lakes Greenville Pale Ale!
My favorite. Ok, well, maybe I'm a little biased because I make the stuff, but still.
It just goes to keg now in Delaware but we're putting in a bottling machine at the end of the year. Actually it IS great beer!

My other favorites are from Victory Beer from not far away from me in PA, too.
Hop Devil Ale is my favorite, but they're all good.
High end 22 ounce bottles I like Ruination pale ale and Bear Republic Big Bear Black Stout. Ok, not the beer to have when you're having a few, though! Heavy duty stuff.
Also, pretty much everything from Flying Dog Brewery, too! Great labels and great to read a Hunter Thompson book while you're drinking a Gonzo Porter

We're going to put on the Mothers Of Invention tomorrow and have the last of the run of "We're Only In it for the Money" Frank Zappa beer. Pretty good stuff! We already had the "Lumpy Gravy" and it was a nice beer.

I'm not that much of a beer snob though, I still like a Corona with a lime on a hot night.Be kind, man

So the question is, do people actually enjoy the way beer TASTES? I mean, it's right up there with chocolate and ice cream in terms of things people mention not being able to wait to get their hands on (as in "It's been a long week, I can't wait to get home and crack open a cold beer"), but do we enjoy the taste of beer as much as we do chocolate and ice cream? Or is there something else about beer that makes us infatuated with it?
I have to ask this because, hey, I indulge in my fair share of beer drinking, and I could certainly hold my own in any beer-guzzling contest...but I have to say, when it comes to the TASTE of the stuff, I don't actually like it. It's actually one of the most bitter, untasty things I can imagine.Everything has chains...Absolutely nothing's changed. - PJ

yes... and if you don't like the taste, then you're drinking the wrong kinds of beer...This is your notice that there is a problem with your signature. Please remove it.

I generally don't like lager. I by far prefer a nice ale, stout or dark beer. Those, I do really enjoy the taste of... buy lager does nothing for my taste buds.My Pearl Jam Photos

I'm a hops fan myself...The hoppier the better I say...Absolutely love IPA's.... Agreed that if you don't like the taste of beer, ya definitely aren't drinking the right kinds.0

even if on just pure taste, I'd take a beer over chocolate any day of the week ...
I'm one of the few people on this planet that, while I like some chocolate ... I could live without it.
As for beer, it's not just any beer, has to be one that I love ... any good amber beer, or some belgain wheats ... none of the light stuff, and I'm not big on stouts either."You're one of the few Red Sox fans I don't mind." - Newch91

That might very well be it.
The best "tasting" beers in my life right now are Corona and Guinness. That said, I am certainly not someone who knows much about good beers.
Any recommendations?Everything has chains...Absolutely nothing's changed. - PJ

Ummm I could go on forever but let's see..... Dogfish Head 60 & 90 minute IPA's, Mojo Risin'(limited), Flying Dog, Stoudt's Pumpkin Ale(especially this time of year), a good beer out of SoCal is Lagunitas, Smithwick's, and on and on I could go....
If you're gonna drink Cornona might as well make it a "Diver Down" - drink the neck, put a shot of Bacardi Limon in the neck, hold upside down, and enjoy.0 -

there are what, 12 different varieties of Sam? more?
Again it depends on your taste, what you're willing to drink.
Best way to find new beers? Head to one of those bars that sell 100s of beers, or a good brew pub, get a flight of all different varieties ... start to narrow down the types of beer you like and you don't like ... then head into the actual brands within the categories of beers you like ..."You're one of the few Red Sox fans I don't mind." - Newch91

I personally can't stand Sam other than the Cherry Wheat and the Summer Ale which are alright.... That's it. With all this talk of beer definitely getting some good shit for the Series opening tonight and might as well start a thread.....;)0 -
So I thought this would be an appropriate time(when isn't it?) to start a thread towards the appreciation of all things beer...Tell us about beer from your parts, brewing your own, going to beer festivals, etc. etc. I feel something good coming out of this one.

Some awesome beers from around my way...
Stoudt's, Sly Fox(aweosome brewery & restaurant in Phoenixville), Victory, Dogfish Head, Flying Fish, Yuengling....and away we gooooo....0 -
Go to a store that carries good beer and get a Franziskaner Weissbier. Best beer I have ever had so far. If you dont like that then just stick to the cheap stuff

Others I recommend: Blue Moon, Newcastle, Shiner Bock, Guinness, Hoegaarden

man, this is a question i keep asking myself. i've only started drinking about a year ago... and i'm 24. reason why was because i didn't like the taste of it. and i even stood around staring people at parties and bars and wondering how the hell they even admit to saying beer tastes good. to this day, i'll admit it... i still don't appreciate it much. but i tell you... i do like mothership... with some lemon... and pretty much every beer i drink i prefer with a lemon. i dunno about not drinking the "right beer"... i've tried to make sense of that too. doesn't matter which kind of beer it is... it's still bitter.walkunafraid wrote:So the question is, do people actually enjoy the way beer TASTES? the only reason i drink it is for social reasons... AND i don't even drink it as often as many people. to be quite honest, it's been about 1 1/2 weeks since i drank my last 2 pints of beer. This isn't the land of opportunity, it's the land of competition.0 -
Beer tastes good............but there are many beers that taste BAD.380
-

not any old beer though, there's plenty I wont bother with..but a lot that are very nice, and very varied in their tastes. I came, I saw, I concurred.....0
